Another 50

questions, 50, again
How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

18 which is actually my current age. I'd choose that because I'm not old enough to make an ass out of myself drinking, but I'm old enough to drive/vote and go to college.

Which is worse, failing or never trying?

Failing

If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?

Because we don't have the time to do what we actually want to do.

When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?

Yep.

What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?

Make magic real

If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?

Being a dean of medicine somewhere.

Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?

Both sort of. Believe in first, settling second.

If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?

Do a whole bunch of stupid things.

To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?

I'm a high school student who lives with her mom.

Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?

Doing things right.

You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?

Defend the friend, and then possibly agree with some of it.

If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don't be an idiot when you're older.

Would you break the law to save a loved one?

Depends on the law I'm breaking.

Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?

I don't think so.

What’s something you know you do differently than most people?

I think in odd ways.

How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?

Because they're not me.

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?

Live in the UK. I'm too young, and don't have any money.

Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?

I hold grudges for a long time, but I like holding them.

If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?

California. It has silicon valley, beaches, Stanford, and it's not the right wig terror of the south/bible-belt.

Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?

No, and no.

Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?

Genius, I value smarts too much.

Why are you, you?

I was born this way. *sings*

Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?

Nope.

Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?

Loosing touch. The question doesn't say I loose touch with the one who moves away.

What are you most grateful for?

The internet and food.

Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?

Lose the old ones. I have things I want to forget.

Is it possible to know the truth without challenging it first?

How can you know if something is true, if no one has challenged it to find out if it really is true?

Has your greatest fear ever come true?

No, I haven't fallen off some high place yet.

Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now?

I don't even remember what I had for breakfast.

What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special?

Going to Australia, because they were showing Kiki's Delivery Service on TV and I saw it there for the first time.

At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?

*blushes* Uhhh....reading smut fanfiction and...other...things?

If not now, then when?

Never.

If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose?

Everything.

Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?

No.

Why do religions that support love cause so many wars?

Because they have no idea what they're actually doing.

Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?

No, evil can have a reason. Killing people is wrong/evil, but would you kill Hitler? The greatest good for the greatest number.

If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job?

I don't have a job.

Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing?

Work I enjoy.

Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before?

That's called school.

When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in?

I bought a flashlight with me.

If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?

My dad.

Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous?

Depends if I'm that annoying "Oh, not them again!" like the Kardaishins (don't care how it's spelled) or not.

What is the difference between being alive and truly living?

Alive= heart beating
living= being alive + having fun

When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right?

Never, because I don't want to get hurt by ignoring risks.

If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake?

Because we're afraid of looking stupid.

What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?

Act differently.

When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing?

When my nose whistles, and I don't remember when it was.

What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love?

Do fictional characters count? Yes, tumblr, fanfiction, my signature....

In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that?

No because I don't remember what I had for breakfast.

Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you?

Depends if my mom wants me to do something.

Not again!

macbook pro, broken, again and 2 more...
Yes, my computers broken...again...
This time it's the keyboard. Enter doesn't work , the space bar acts like the backslash key, and delete acts like the key to turn the sound off. So it's probably keyboard and hardware now, if keys are acting like different keys. I did take the tops off to clean them, and now two of the tops won't go back on. I once again have to take it to apple. Sadly, I have a college visit tomorrow, and won't be able to get it in until Sunday. And again, my laptops out of waranty so we'll have to call service net to set up another claim along with the trackpad one.
Also, now the graphics are slow. I minimize anything and it takes about a minute for it to go into the doc, same with switching desktop screens. (Using mission control, I can have two desktop screens up at the same time with different things in them. Helps keep everything organized.)

Honestly, would it be wrong of me to ask apple to give me a new laptop even though it's out of waranty? I mean, look at all the repairs and issues:
HD X2
HD Cable X2
Disk Drive (which they broke while doing another repair)
Graphics Card
Logic Board (I think. It was with the 1st HD repair)
Trackpad
And now the Keyboard and some possible hardware issues.
It's only 1 year and 3 months old. I had to type this on my iPad.

My computer is fine.

computer, mac, trackpad, warranty
No not really
My macbook pro's trackpad is broken and the apple care warranty ran out. I have a 3 year plan from mac mall for service net, but I just called and my last name brings up the wrong people, and my computers serial number isn't in the system. We didn't get a contract or anything because we bought it though mac mall, so there's no contract number to provide. So, service net can not fix my computers trackpad. It's not a large issue I mean, the trackpad works nearly all of the time except for a few instances here and there when the mouse will do whatever the heck it wants. If this was my HD again, yes, I'd be mad they can't find anything on the warranty that cost $200 or so. But a trackpad that works nearly 95+% of the time, is just fine with me. Nothing major is broken on my laptop, so the fact they can't find my warranty isn't really that big of a deal to me. My mom keeps telling me to get them to fix it, and now she went and called them but they can't find anything with the info we can provide, and we're missing some info as well, so it's going to go the same way. If something major was broken, I'd understand her actions, but this is really quite miniscule.

Might as well

parody, little mermaid, lamas and 2 more...
On Deviantart, people can send you lama (badges). After you get a certain amount of lamas, your lama upgrades. At 50 lamas, you go from Super Lama to Albino lama.

Satuski Presents:

(a partial parody, not a full song one)

I want more (lamas)

Look at these lamas.

Aren't they neat?
Wouldn't you think my collections complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl, the girl who has all the lamas?
Look at this trove, lamas untold.
How many lamas can one account hold?
Looking around here, you'd think
Sure, she's got all the lamas.
I've got lamas and lamas a plenty.
I've got lamas and lamas galore.
You want lamas?
I've got 50.
But who cares?
No big deal
I WANT MORE!

There's your partial Little Mermaid parody.

It's over. It's finally over.

finals, paper, apush, vietnam and 1 more...
Finished at last!
It's finals week, or in my case 2 days of finals. The kids in our AP US History class don't have to take a final, since we take the AP test and have to do a culminating project that takes about 5+ months. Instead, we have a party. There were pretzel doughnuts, bagels, and lots of delicious foods. I also got to laugh at kids who took regular US History because they have to take a 179 question final.

Well, during this time, our teacher gave us back our yearlong projects. I ended up with a 70.9%, and it's about 40-45% of my final grade. I'm fine with the 70%, as my grades a C anyways (75%). I'm amazed I got a 70% when I didn't do any research for 3 months and did it all in 3 days, then did my rough draft the night before.
Honestly, I absolutely hated my topic. I ended up having to write a 6k word paper of what led the US to Vietnam, and I just plain hated the topic. It was incredibly boring for me.

If you'd like to read the paper, I can link it to this post. Let me know if you do. Though I'm going to guess you don't, because who wants to read a 6k word research paper.
That's the last thing the class has for me to do. No more sleepless nights and panic modes. Whew!

Reminisce

Does Anyone Remember this?
One day, I got really bored and noticed I had failed to install my sims 3 game on my laptop. I went and did that, base game and the ambitions pack, then proceeded to add in the other major expansions. Now came a couple questions, where do I live and what will my sims look like?

I eventually ended up on the island from Island Paradise, and created a fairy sim, who I named Eris. I like to think of my sim as an extension of myself, it makes the game a bit more fun for me. Also, I like my sims to have a partner as it makes things a bit more fun.

Now for the reminiscing, I used to have sims 2, and since I was younger all the partners for my sim were named after my crushes. I did that when I fist got sims 3 as well. Since I'm not currently interested in anyone who's a normal person, I just went with celebrity crushes. I'm terrible at trying to make sims who look like real life people, so I just downloaded some sims other people made.

I get that same feeling I did before with sims 2 because I can control romantic interactions of both sims. I have this tiny fantasy world on my computer, that brings me back to when I was about 10 or so making sims for the first time.

For those of you who played the sims, or still do, reminisce with me!

I'll add some pictures in later.

18th Birthday

Posted by KaibaSama, 10 May 2014 · 1345 views
birthday, 18, voting, presents
Today I am an Official Adult
I turned 18 today, making me in the eyes of the US government a legal adult. Now I can vote, and be tired in court as an adult. I had a lot of fun today, and got many great gifts!

My grandma every year sends money, and this year she sent me $180, because I've been alive 18 years. My cousin sent $25 and a very funny e-card with a dog dreaming about his birthday.
(click on this to see the card)http://www.jacquiela...4789&path=83542

I spent some of it at Best Buy, getting a mouse for my laptop because some of the neopets games are very hard to play, even with AoB's and such, with a trackpad.
Posted Image
I got emerald green nail polish, brown eyeliner, and a birthday gift of mascara (which I don't use) and lipstick from Sephora. They also did my nails for me.

I also bought some really nice perfume from Bath and Body Works, which for some reason they call "fragrance mist" and the stuff they actually label as "perfume" costs more. It was a 3 for $12 deal, so two of them were "Beautiful Day" and the other was "Coconut Lime Breeze".
Posted Image

Finally, my mom got me a new charger for my camera because I lost mine and have been taking pictures with my iPhone when my camera is so much better.
Posted Image
Tomorrow I'll spend the day with my dad. On another note, this day ruined my healthiness for the biggest looser because Godiva gives you $10 on chocolate on your birthday, I got about 5-6 pieces for $1.50, plus there's the Starbucks vanilla bean frap I had too.

Macbook failures

Posted by KaibaSama, 25 April 2014 · 527 views
macbook pro, apple, hard drive and 1 more...
So far my macbook has had these items replaced:
HD x2
HD cable
Graphics card
Disk drive
HD cable and new HD (possibly)

Today, when I pulled it out for class, my macbook went into internet recovery. Then I tried to reinstall lion but there was no hard drive. So, I had to take it back to the apple store for about the 4-5th time now. My macbook can't find its own HD anymore. It may just be that the cable got messed up again, or the whole HD may need to be replaced. I'm hoping it's not the HD because that erases everything. I already have 5 computers authorized for iTunes, so if they replace the HD I'm going to have to get apple to remove the authorized computers so I can add the new HD.

It's under apple care warranty until the 29th. Thank goodness it decided to be considerate and fail just before the warranty expired. If anything else goes wrong after the 29th, I have a three year warranty from mac mall, which goes until April 29, 2016. I'm hoping that my macbook doesn't fail again, and that I won't have to use the warranty from mac mall. Good thing it died on a Friday, because then they can take until Monday to fix my computer since they didn't have the part in store today.
I typed all this from my iPad, just another reason I'm glad to have it. When my laptop fails I have my iPad to make up for the laptops absence. Sadly, I can't run any programs, but at least I have a somewhat medium sized screen with Internet.
