Computer repair rant #3 (I think)

repair computer apple service net
Got my macbook back and guess what?
Huge chip taken off the right hand corner that wasn't there when I sent it in
Webcam repaired when there was nothing wrong with it (I'm going to guess they broke that too)
Spinning Beach Ball of Death constantly and constant slowness

My computer isn't usable now because of this constant slowness. I can't send it back either because I need it for school, but not being able to use it is better than waiting 3+ weeks to see what they broke this time.

All I'm running is Chrome and it gives me that stupid ball every 10 seconds. I have no idea what they did to my computer but it's never been this slow before, not even when it was broken. If it has to be fixed again, I don't care anymore about price. All I want is a guarantee that my computer will be repaired correctly, and quickly, which is what I'm not getting from my repair company. The company isn't even an authorized Apple retailer/computer fixer!

A word of warning, if buying anything and they offer you a Sevice Net Warranty, don't get it. You won't get anything repaired correctly and repaired quickly. (I've checked their customer reviews, I'm not the only one who has gotten crap from this company).

Dang, you're having so many problems with this thing ;w; Do you need to use OSX? Since if you don't then maybe it'd be good to just get a whole new laptop and sell your Macbook for a bit of extra cash towards it :x (If you just like the feel of OSX, you could just install some Linux flavour like Mint or Ubuntu and use that)

The mac won't sell if it doesn't work. Plus, everyone in my family uses mac, so my family can easily save me trips to the Apple store. And, I'm much more familiar and comfortable with using it, so it makes everything easier.

Open Activity Monitor. In the CPU and Memory tabs, take screenshots of the charts at the bottom (Command+Shift+4 and drag a box over it) and upload them. I used to have problems with memory usage and shit hits the fan once it starts using page/swap files.

Also, have you installed anything (anything that isn't a drag and drop)?

Any programs I have on there I had before this happened and the computer worked just fine with them. One of the first things I did was check activity monitor, but everything seems fine there. (Nothing using too much CPU power, memory or storage or anything). It takes two restarts to actually get it to work correctly, but I have to do that every day now. At least it sort of works.

so sad to hear that. i never use a macbook before, so i don't know how great it is. but if instead of wasting money to repair a lot of time (i guess repairing apple stuff is expensive), why don't you just buy other brand of laptop. they usually are much cheaper for the same thing they can do. also, the parts are serviceable by yourselves. i mean in term of cleaning them :)

Because this laptop was a very expensive birthday gift, and at times it still sort of works. I also trust apple more than any other brand. (It's not apple that's the issue it's my repair company that's the issue).
And if you read my post 4 posts above, I explained why I won't buy another brand.
