The gunpowder treason and plot.
I know of no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
I've read two reviews on the movie. The first... the one that inspired me to attend opening a few days after movie release, gave it a B+ (The Contra Costa Times, Walnut Creek, CA) The second one I read today. 3 out of 4 stars (The Sacramento Bee, Sacramento, CA) Both written by drones who are afraid to say what they think or afraid to approve of the content of the message. Either way, no government or conviction to the medium or the message. I look at it like either they are too stupid, too brainwashed, too far in denial or too incompetent to write the review.
I give it an A+. It should be required viewing of all highschool/college freshman in their required History 101 classes, required for all film students and mandatory for anyone who is in the arts or strives to be in the arts. It's a classic and, with time, will be appreciated with all the others before it; Citizen Kane, Apocolypse Now, The Matrix, etc.
When I try to explain it to others who have not seen it, it's impossible. The best description I have come up with is Don Quiote and the Phantom of the Opera in the European theatre of WWII - set in the future. It is descriptive, yet gives away nothing.
My compliments to all and I hope those viewers who think will 'get it' and run with it. The Message is great, the storyline is supurb and the production top notch.
My favorite thing is after the movie. I like to gaze att the few who stay until after the very end of the credits are through. It's quite a mixed bag, too. They range from the intellegent who are numb with marvel at the production, to those who are confused by their own denial of what they have seen.
The former are the most stimulating and the parallel intellectual banterings we have are rewarding... for both parties. The latter are the most fun. Inquiring farther, as you loosen the blindfold of denial that jades their opinion seems to only confuse them more. It's like putting a clothes pin on a cats tail and turning them loose. By the time they leave, the are questioning their own definitions of what a terrorist is and where they even got that image in the first place. These are both humourous and rewarding because they leave questioning themselves... which to me is the message of the movie.
I personally have never read any graphic novel of any sort before, but I plan on buying it right when I wake up in the morning tomarrow.
wrote when it actually came out, happened to still have the text file.

The one thing I'll say about this movie, is that its the only movie I regret stealing, because the men [the Wachowski brothers, creators of The Matrix] who created this movie deserve every penny of the $19.99 it costs to buy it.
It was probably one of the most moving films I've ever seen, and not in that soppy, Titanic-esque bullshit way. This movie combined a powerful message, mystery, action, and a damn good plot to make me a different person. And I'm not just saying that.
It is probably the most needed film of our generation. The children of the 80s and 90s had American History X, Clerks (Kevin Smith is GOD), and Good Will Hunting, our generation has V for Vendetta. I'm still waiting for our Clerks...
