Program Name: TRODS: Control Rod Calculator
Author: Sunscorch
Submit Bug Report: Click here to file a bug report for this program.
Download Link: Click Here

Since you've made it here, I assume you know what this program is for... but just in case you're a complete moron, this calculator will tell you which components to use to make your control rods.

The activity is found HERE, but will not be available unless you have completed all the previous plot steps.

HOW TO USE THE PROGRAM

Once you have accessed the page linked to above, view the source, and select all (Ctrl+A).

Paste this into the text box at the top of the calculator and press "Calculate".

The boxes that turn green at the bottom indicate which components to use.

Select them on the web page, and make your control rod!

Apparently, it only works if you copy from Firefox, as IE doesn't add the bullet points onto the clipboard.

I can't get it to work blink.gif....The instructions are simple enough. Open page provided in link.....hit Ctrl+A...paste into program and hit calulate.

The program closes for me.

EDIT: nevermind...I'll try FF tongue.gif

It only worked in FireFox before.

I have now updated it to work across all browsers, but you have to copy the SOURCE, not just the page.

Nobody claimed it was the best one and just because you can't get it to work doesn't mean it won't work at all.

rolleyes.gif

Got it to work in FF. So do you think it is safe to submit a correct answer every few minutes? There doesn't seem to be a warning about using a program for this tongue.gif

Not at all. This took me a fair while to write, and if all you can do is complain, without constructively helping to improve it, then I fail to see why you should get to benefit from it.
As for being able to do the step without it, well done. It's not hard. The tool is just to make it faster.

I could have sworn I added a disclaimer about that xD
Yeah, some, it will get wrong, because the metals get doubled up.
People doing it by hand would probably mess that up as well, so it's unavoidable without a lot more programming that I really cannot be arsed to do.

Oh, what a lovely program. So if just one box in the top row lights up, do you use only the metal with the number in the top number list or?

Oh, I got it figured out. Yay.

By the way, what's the little box between the Ne and SL for?

I got a whole bunch of outcomes for SL and NE and like, the little box got a symbol. I all click the little right symbol and the left symbol go up and down.

Oh, lots of questions. X-x

Woot thanks for the program!

Dunno really wha tto give as constructive criticism, since there no flaws about it biggrin.gif Sure, it does some mistakes here and there but that only makes it more realistic to TNT!

edit: Maybe, if possible could you add support for ctrl+A command in the textbox. It's not a big problem, but would save a few seconds while deleting the code inside it biggrin.gif

Will this pogram work on a Mac? I have no idea what to do with this step, and a little help sure would be useful.

This program will not work on a Mac unless Mac has some method to install the vb6 runtime files sad.gif.

Joe, you should have made the first fully featured java program tongue.gif.

You must have your language set to English on Neopets.

Ignore the rest.
Just worry about the green.
If anything else was important, I would have mentioned it.

firstly: thank you!

second: do you only need to make one rod? is it better to make all ten or as many as you can?

Pupsikans please do not discourage our programmers from doing thier job, just because you can't get the program to work while others have ben reporting success means that you aren't doing something. Your lucky that your only being blocked from Joe's program, if I see you saying discriminating things again it'll be from all programs for 24 hours. Obviously any program can be improved but why don't you pass some constructive critisizim rather than flame him for releasing a program. Just because Joe doesn't have as mcuh experience as a programmer such as Laser Wave or someone similar doesn't mean they produce lesser quality or shitter programs.

You've been warned.

Appreciate it happy.gif

To be honest, noone is entirely sure. However we think you get points for each time you complete one of the four activities in this step.
So basically, yeah, do it as much as you can tongue.gif

Try changing your regional settings to English (United Kingdom).

Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Standards and Formats.
