If you use anything other than an elite proxy it's pointless.
I really wouldn't be surprised if it's more dangerous using a medium anonymity proxy because of the fact that TNT can see quite obviously that you're trying to hide.
I've found a few sites that have some decent and free Elite proxies. It takes awhile to find one that works at a good speed. Depending on what you're using the proxies for, it might be worthwhile to just purchase a list from a pay-site.
Could any body plz give some good proxy list website
Which updates at fast intervals
I cant seem to find any good website

What defines an elite proxy? any examples?
uhh, im using hidemyass, its pretty decent i guess. doesnt lag. I cant find any difference with the haggling speeds (around 3.4secs-4secs) but i guess the numbers are so scary cause i live in asia :\

hidemyass is a sad excuse for a proxy...
If you are trying to hide what you are doing to your internal network, they can see it. If you are trying to hide what you are doing to whatever external network you are connecting to, they can see it.
If you want just a simple web based proxy that will most likely NOT cover all the tracks and can be VERY easily detected... then go with proxy.org and pick a proxy from their list... ANY ONE of these proxies will be better then hidemyass.
The point of a proxy is to hide your actual internet activities from your home IP. HideMyAss is a proxy... corporation? Every major login portal and company in the world has HideMyAss' server IP's flagged for suspicion if not completely blacklisted. Don't trust them.
The best way to TRULY "proxy" is to set up an SSH tunnel to a Linux box and route traffic that way... or if you don't have access to a cheap Linux shell, then just manually configure your LAN proxy settings (also look into MAC spoofing) with a proxy from http://www.aliveproxy.com ... That website has a TON of free public proxies, that are updated daily (new) so 99% of the time they won't be blacklisted IP's. Also, you can sign up there for the "Daily 500" which is an email newsletter that goes out every 24 hours with 500 brand new SOCKS / HTTP proxies.
Alternately, from the same people that run aliveproxy.com also has a service called AliveVPN which is probably your best solution outside of a Linux SSH tunnel. It costs only $0.22/day and you get a dedicated IP and tons of other useful features.
Remember, your IP isn't the only way to physically trace your connection. Most websites have started migrating to MAC addresses to identify clients. It is a MUCH more reliable and accurate pinpoint on user / client activity. Your MAC address is your physical computers actual "code", if you will. Every computer in the world has a unique MAC address, so even if you use a proxy to spoof your IP, they still know who you are by checking your MAC address.
If you need any more information let me know... I have a list of about 140,000 active non-blacklisted proxies that range anywhere from mid-DSL to fibre optic connection throughput.
Usually I'd walk you through this hand-in-hand, however tonight I'm just not feeling it. Here's the link to a guide that helped me tremendously in understanding proxies when I was new to these forums -
:http://www.neocodex.us/forum/topic/98928-guidemulti-account-anonymity-beyond-proxy-hide-info- a-proxy-does-not/
That guide coupled with Georgina's (I think it was Georgina) proxy guide really helped me when I first started.

How important is it really to use a proxy? Is it only to protect your other accounts if you get iced?
Posted 14 December 2010 - 10:10 PM
Proxy is key to helping you from getting frozen! Main and other accounts alike. There are plenty of threads already to explain (:

A proxie isn't going to defend you from freezes by itself.
It only helps you for not getting chain iced/ip banned.

Its called 'abrosia' not 'ambrosia'Ah, that cleared things up for me. Entering a elite proxy into the Ambrosia program is enough right? I don't have to alter anything on my browser or internet options?

Hehe sorry, honest mistake. I was thinking of the food ambrosia.
