So some of us briefly mentioned why we're on codex/how we discovered the site so I was wondering how you got here.

Here's a poll for you

Am I missing an option that would be easily explained that wouldn't need to be under the generic "other"?

Me: I wa actually on DZ and someone's sig was "proud Abrosia user" so I googled "Abrosia", liked it, bought a subscription, but stayed on the boards. And here I am now. The token gaysian Canadian with helmet hair, eh?

Was at GZP at the time which was riddled with programs that would steal your password or get you iced, Codex had a reputation for being a quality site that checked all their programs. Been on more or less ever since

The ItemDB was the first part of 'codex that I used. Didnt start using the forums or the programs until i decided that i really wanted a Baby PB.

This is similar to how I found Codex. I had another AB'er and needed a nice way to make my own lists. I actually had a dummy account that I had created just so I could use the restock list feature. I eventually gave Abrosia a try, liked it, and made a real account. :)

EDIT: I love the new image in your siggy Cody. Fear and Loathing is pretty tight.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAH I looove your options ROFL

I had played neo for like 5 years and had 500k np to my name. I really really badly wanted to get involved with bd and didn't know how. I figured I needed NP. So I searched went through a BUNCH of msn (or was it something else?) groups, all a bunch of crap. Landed on codex thought it was a stupid group too. But it turned out not to be. :D I think i came here from a link on another msn group. At the time codex had jack, diddly squat. I have no idea why I stuck. I think it might have been because I was taking a bunch of hard classes and after half a year of failing it after working my butt off I just needed a distraction with something I am good at.

then eventually i went legit because of codex. :)

ps:
is it msn that hosted the groups? im really thinking it was something else...

I was on 3volutions and I knew Codex was a competing site, and since registrations were almost always closed, I really wanted to join to see what all of the fuss was about. :p

This.
Exactly this :p

I think 3vo's unilateral banning of any mention of Codex specifically earned this site a good number of it's longest-lived members :p

Holy shit. Nostalgia. I remember 3vo from years and years back when I first started cheating on Neo. No idea what my user was, I was like 14 years old then. O_o

If I remember correctly, I believe Sockopen and Rikku were fairly active in that community.

I believe I ended up here looking for help on solving a Lenny Conundrum question and found the harshness of some members to be quite refreshing, because the other Neopet communities I'd seen were all love, peace, motherfucking rainbows and unicorn shit. But despite the awesome chicks I've met here, I believe Neocodex is a boy's club. Not much unicorn shit here. And I do like playing with the boys.

For Sweeney, of course. Who doesn't want to be around him?

I'd follow him into the mists of Avalon, if that's what you mean.
But I can think of a few people who don't care for him. Apparently, he's a meanie pants.

I was on some other forum, and they said this place had programs, so I came and joined.

Stopped playing Neopets not long after Abrosia was released, but I thought I already had a place here, and I'd might as well stick around.

Not like I do much anyways.

You really need to start playing Neopets again. I really enjoy your posts, and when I was super new, I found your answers to stupid questions very helpful. :p

Well, I can always still help around, but even if I do start playing again, my silly backwards schedule because of work usually puts me a while behind anything else to actually be of any use during anything. Fucking Good ol' Scot or someone else is usually on the case before I get the chance to hop on and even see what's up.

Enjoyed the compliment, though. Posted Image

I joined because registrations were closed for a long time and I knew that couldn't be without good reason. I think a member named Alex advertised on a few sites I was frequenting (GZP specifically) that neocodex was opening registrations on Christmas Day, so after I opened my presents but before christmas brunch, I got on my family PC and created an account. Been here off and on ever since.

Let's be honest here, the programs.

I appreciate your honesty. Most of the people using our programs would likely say the same thing, if 90% of them weren't leachers that never set foot on the forums. At least you've got the good manners to admit it.

Came here looking for the intention of solely perusing the ABer. Found out there were other programs and the community is pretty active, so, hay. Why not!
