Wow... just did a little research on Arthur's Day (as I've never heard of the holiday before)... and I have to admit that I went and confused myself.
First I stumbled upon the page for
Arthur Day, the "cricketer who played for Kent during the period of the county's greatest success in the County Championship."
Admittedly, it seemed like a shaky premise for a holiday, but I think I was a little more disappointed when I found the actual reasoning behind
Arthur's Day: the day when "Guinness drinkers are expected to raise a glass to the memory of Arthur Guinness."
Is Arthur's Day a nationally accepted holiday, or is it one of those things that everyone celebrates whether the government gives them a day off or not?
