You would be wrong.

The highest amount you can place into the bank account before the Neopoints start disappearing is 2,147,483,647 NP. Anybody who says they have more pure than that in the bank is lying as the way the information is stored in the SQL table doesn't allow a figure higher than that. I will also confirm that when hitting this limit, your NP does not 'roll over' to a negative value (some people have claimed if you hit the cap your NP will reset to a negative value) it simply disappears from being on hand but does not get added to the bank. You also can't collect interest (you can click the button but it disappears).

On hand, you can have more NP, but it doesn't display correctly and you aren't sure how much NP you're holding until you drop it below 1 billion :p

Thats cool, so did you get frozen??

um
Yes. We took advantage of a specific glitch... at first we got away with it for 1-2 days, then 8 hours, then were getting done within 30 mins.

How long ago was this? I'd love to make the largest shop and taunt lol

I wonder if some else found the glitch and was sat using the np for ages.

I wonder what's the most someone has ever had without a glitch. I'm suprised neo hasn't changed the 800k np cap on trades considering how much items have inflated over the years.

TNT explained the reason they're keeping it the way it is by saying the following in the Trading Post's FAQ:

There is a limit on the amount of Neopoints you can offer for a trade because the Trading Post is a place to trade items, not to sell them. Neopoints are allowed in trades just to make sure that you can even up the amounts properly.

I think it's funny that they take that stance, but as there is the auction house and there is a "NF Only" option, it's perfectly possible to handle high-level sales with a relatively low risk of having somebody else take it. The only downside is the time between listing and auction completion.

Yea especially when the auctions get jammed and take hours to process sometimes.

I remember the days when 100k in the bank was insane :D

Do people actually use the auction house to do transfers? It'd be a whole lot less annoying than 10 TP trades to transfer 8 million. Or are people just likely to tack on some ETS?

If you're talking about transferring NPs from one account to another account, then I'm pretty sure it's sort of rare. People tend to notice when you 20mil is paid for a shitty item. That is not visibility you need.

When I have a high-priced item and I want the pure (which is always), you can bet it's going in the Auction House.

I think lots of user use the auction house to transfer nps. I remember to see a codestone for 200k and with only one offer. I dont think anyone would pay that much for a codestone.

I had 8 million legit before I spent it all on a mall shop on my old account... then subsequently got frozen.

I had this happen to me, as well. TWICE.

They have raised the cap. It was 200k just a couple years ago.
