I will cover how to do those that aren't .zip later on in the tutorial.
Brushes:
First, you will need to find out where your brushes are stored.
- To do that open up gimp, then go to Edit>Preferences>Folders>Brushes
- the folder you are looking for is the one that doesn't have your name on it.
Location.PNG 161.15KB 22 downloads
- See where I highlighted it? That's the folder you are looking for.
WinRar:
Now install the brushes, for this example we'll use these.
Brushes Preview.PNG 252.39KB 17 downloads
- The first highlight is where you would click to download/save file.
-The second highlight is to show you the credit they want. This deviant artist just wants them to be added to your favorites.
Open thebrushes folder for gimp.
That means to start at computer, and follow the path until the folder is open.
Then you will need to take the brushes file from winrar and move them to the gimp folder.
DragFile.png 163.92KB 10 downloads
You can now use those brushes when running gimp.
Others:
This is the brushes we'll download for this example.

When the file finishes downloading, open the folder where the brushes were saved to.
-They will most likely be in your downloads.
openfile.png 63.36KB 6 downloads
You will now need to open another folder to get to the gimp brushes folder.
-If it won't let you just open a new folder, try opening another folder and then backtracking till you can start the trail to get to the gimp brushes.
movefile.PNG 160.58KB 9 downloads
Drag the brushes you've just downloaded over to the brushes folder for gimp.
You can Now use those brushes when running gimp.
Here are screenies showing the new brushes in use.

Fonts:
Except for the location, downloading these are just like with brushes.
You will need to find the location for fonts, follow the same path as you did when finding your brushes.
There is only the one file there, so place all your new fonts into that folder.
fontlocation.PNG 74.52KB 23 downloads
Then download the font you would like to use on gimp. For this example we will use this font.
dafont.PNG 56.87KB 10 downloads
Click the download link to install it.
I've not downloaded many fonts from this site, but the ones I have downloaded have all been WinRar.
So open with WinRAR.ZIP.
Openfont.PNG 25.51KB 5 downloads
Then Just like with making brushes, drag the file over into the font folder for gimp.
movefont.PNG 154.1KB 7 downloads
You can now use your new font. Enjoy
usingfont.PNG 89.55KB 8 downloads
You could most likely download other additions, like gradient for an easy example, by following the same path.
I hope this guide has been helpful to other Gimp user's like me ^,^.
