Okay, This is getting a little out of hand.

Ive been dealing with my moderator duties as usual, but ive seen and been asked to raise certain issues with people about behavior and rule obstruction.

On TWO occasions, I was treated like crap, verbally abused over the I'm service when I had explained what I had warned for. You do NOT complain about warnings or messages given to you by staff unless it is REALLY unfair. You do NOT abuse ANY member of staff for doing what they're meant to be doing.

I'll explain to you what we need the staff for, starting from the lowest ranks.

Programming Groups - Jr/Nor/Sr - This group of people contribute the scale of neocodex, the programs! I've seen flaming in topics about things not working, and it makes the programmer feel bad and maybe think about moving elsewhere..It isnt worth it.. And the Sr.Programmers have alredy acquired the moderation team stance, between normal mod and Smod.

Moderation Team [General Area] - This group deals out the moderation for the general area's and lounges, keeping the board in order and dealing out justice as it should be. Flame at these and be warned, you have been warned..If you are dealt a warning you think is unfair, contact the mod and disbecauses it in a civilised matter, flame and it will be braught up and you will be dealt with.

A footnote on Norm/Sr.Programmers - Diss them and you get NO PROGRAMS WHATSOEVER. These guys create the best programs, and their talent has been seen and dealt with.

SuperModerator - These are the highest formality of the moderation team, and are here to deal with the intense issues, and to take the weight off the administrators and the other moderation team. Flame any of these members harshly enough or treat them with disrespect, You will probably be banned.

Administrators - Admins are the highest of all. They have the power to ban with a single click. I havent seen one case of flaming of these yet, so you've been good not to do that.

This applies to most members - stop being disrespectful to other members and the staff, I've seen 5 members leave because of others treating them badly or verbally abusing/flaming.

All the moderation team will be out on whatch for this, you will be warned if we see fit you have broken a rule, and complaining about it when it is fair will ONLY make it worse.

Thank you,

~Euphoria

Disrespecting Programmers is such a bad thing to do. If you haven't realized, NeoCodex is the only board left that has Public Programs (you can dl them even you'll not post, unlike ZetaCracks, etc...), so, you should be careful.... :p (by the way, no one has disrespected me yet so you all have earned my respect :p )

Sorry, I moved the PF4 topic above this one so I thought I'd bring this back to the top because it's I'mportant.

I'd like to add that personal message, MSN and I'm flaming is very possibly a great deal worse than public flaming. If you flame somebody via I'm, you are not only insulting them but also taking over their personal space. I've been a victi'm of that before (not here, at school) and it's not like you can just close the browser or go somewhere else- sure, you can block people but still, nobody wants to do that. It doesn't make for a pleasant evening talking to your friends. That is all. [/rant] :p

~reposted since the post were rolled  back~
you know I gonna say soemthign actually. lately I haven't had ti'me to really say much because of the fighting on the board. I been having to keep the peace both on AND off the board as well as help other issues. I know I'm an smod and probaly have the lower post rate out of any of them. do I care? heck no? should I care? no!. I help the boards so much in the background that not even funny. I'm an smod and I have seen people basically slap the moderators and ME around like we are uni'mportant to the point of ignoring what we say until an admin says soemthing. it gonna stop. I love the board to hell and back but guys start respecting the staff more

I hate it when people are doing it because you are giving them brilliant programs and they are still flaming just because there is a error in the program or something. Its not like they are paying for them.

hallelujah, finally a topic about this, disrespect is something people get enough of in the 'outside' world we don't need to shoot it @ them on their 'kind of' escape!

Luckily, the few people that I have warned were very respectful to me. Hopefully, ALL the members are respectful.

I have always I'mmediately banned people I found to be disrespectful. @ twist we have a level 2 warning for profanity and other things, and dis-respect of staff is a level 3 warning. Add them together, and you get banned for a week.

The way I see it, no matter what member it is, disrespect should be punished in the excat same ways, other members should not be treated diffrently because of their status.

I think too much emphasis is placed on staff, sure they're I'mportant and needed etc but place too much I'mportance on them and they become enstranged from the rest of the members. Because esentially that's all the staff are. Members.

I can see what you mean...to a point. But, when I became admin, I was doing a lot more moderating/banning than posting/downloading. I hardly considered myself a normal member.

I consider myself a normal member and would like to be treated as one...not as an admin :) ...you should respect everyone no matter what...and not just on neocodex but everywhere you go in life.
