it's actually lvl 20.

If your pet is at lever 20 or higher the lab can't reset your level to 1

Is there any proof, like an editorial or something?

Well, personal experience for one. i've had my level reset dozens of times, all of which occurred before lvl 20, once i get past it I've never had it happen.

I also read it in on one of the other sites a couple of years ago... I'll have to try to find it again

yeah, would those personal experiences happened to have occured at level 3 and below? because i've never heard of the lab decreasing level by anything other than 2. I imagine the prevalence of low-leveled lab pets and the fact that level can't go lower than 1 would account for the "back to level 1" occurring with some frequency.

All possible zap results:
  • +2 levels
  • -2 levels
  • down to level 1
  • +2/3 strength
  • -2/3 strength
  • +2/3 defence
  • -2/3 defence
  • +2/3 movement
  • -2/3 movement
  • +2/3/4/5 endurance(HP)
  • gender change
  • color change
  • species change
  • no change
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the vast amount of people having this happen to them at least once while using the lab would beg to differ.
And why would they make a different message for the same thing happening?

i'm sure the vast amount of people who see visions of the virgin mary believe they are telling the truth too
and I already addressed the "back to level 1" phrasing.

There is proof of pets higher than lvl 20 being brought down to 1.

I've had it happen both ways... with pets of lvl 3 and higher.

I've had it happen on pets level 10 and up.
Way to be condescending when I just listed all the possible zaps.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

it seems far fetched to me that level would operate entirely different from the other stats

From what I've seen it's very hard to happen, and if you get your neopet back to level 1 on the stage that it can really hurt (level 100 or more), your neopet should be using A-Neggs.
Lab + Armoured Neggs seems like the cheapest option IMO.

I'm only at lvl 43.

My highest stat is HP, which when over 80, so now I have to pay three codestones.

Its hard to train alongside labray, no matter how fast i train, it seem my pets level can never catch up with the rate its hp is inreasing from labray

Never liked the idea of combining training with the lab ray, but if you're up for it...
I've heard that level 30 was enough to stop getting the level nerf... then again I never zapped a pet with that kind of level

There is an article in one of the neopets editorial issue and it is lvl 20
