Only thing I really use is the wiki app and the FML app. Games wise the papi games keep me entertained long enough....
I actually don't know how to get angry birds. It doesn't show up on my market o.0

You need Android 1.6+ for Angry Birds, it works fine on mine.

I use a mixture of BBC News/Guardian Anywhere/Pulse for news.
Soccer Score - FotMob for my football
Trainline Tickets is good if you use trains with any regularity
Google Sky Maps for generally keeping me amused of an evening
I'll try to remember to ask the Boy tomorrow. He uses his far more than me so actually has useful things...

Seemed too good to turn down for the price (£80) after getting rid of all the Orange shit.
One app I'm really liking so far is Swype which is basically a gesture based keyboard:

def get a task killer and appbrain app market <--- amazing
As far as task killers go I wouldn't recommend them. You should be able to create a shortcut to manage your own applications from your phone without downloading anything. I only say you shouldn't get a task killer because I used on my phone and it was all fine and dandy for a few months, then suddenly my phone would no longer hold a charge at all. I took the phone into the nearest t-mobile store and after a few hours they replaced my phone battery with a new one and said the old one was completely shot due to having ATK on it. I don't know if it was bs or not but my phone works fine now and if I notice the battery seems to be dying fast I just go through and stop applications manually.

I use this. With php4android, another app, an extension of SL4A. I prefer PHP and my many classes.
Dropbox. If you don't know what it is, or don't have an account, click the link at the end of this line. The link provides a video, and if you sign up using my link, we both get 1/8 of a GB extra. http://db.tt/pznTHgP
Androdaft. If you like Daft Punk AT ALL, get it.

of course you need an unlimited data plan but im sure you've got one since they kinda force you to get one. (which btw some carriers allow you to remove after the first month)
also, as you begin to get more apps, you might wanna get an extended battery. most apps that have constant data transfers will definitely leave your battery drained

Scripting Layer For Android. It's basically a command line for many programming languages. It takes time to get used to. There's full documentation and all though. http://code.google.c...roid-scripting/

I'd rather just use Java and make proper applications. I haven't used Java for a good few years though so I'll have to relearn it.

Doesn't the Android have the same apps as the iPhone?
Nope, the itunes market is alot more strict on what it allows, while the android market basically allows anything.
