I rather like this idea. -5 for a lost post would make the moderators job easier, and give us the mostly meaningless power of voting! Its Democracy in action! Now point me toward the middle class so I can force them to shoulder the burdens of our wars that we aren't actually in.

I believe if we do get negatively repped, it would be helpful it there was a reason WHY they rep a person down in case people abuse it. The moderators could then decide if the person deserved it.
I've seen this done in other forums and it keeps rep abuse in check.

Honestly though, I don't like this idea of negative rep.

The only problem with this idea is it would require too heavy moderation for it to work, something I think the Staff don't really want to do and generally don't have time for.

If it gets bumped and enough people go to the active content page, it'll be right on top.

And I'm sure there'd be some butthurt people who would just go back and neg rep it out of spite, as well.

Which brings me back to the point tha the negative rep isn't a good idea as without moderation it can and WILL be abused
