    Main concern here is not if he has the money, but which is the most worth it and do you need the largest size. I run 20 gigs and have a 15 (I think) gigs USB and I manage quite easily. The smallest amount is most likely efficient.

    true and i guess you can always use a portable HD if ya run low on space. Would work out the cheaper option.

    That one sucks ass. If you're going to get an xbox you might as well get an older one with which you can play pirated games on (You can do the modding yourself or just pay somebody to do it).

    You do realize there are different 'elite' models, right? With different motherboards and protections in place to prevent piracy. Gosh!

    Anyway, if you can, try getting an old 'phat' ps3 from ebay that supports ps2 emulation through hardware.

    Just choose the cheapest deal you can find. No way you will use 150GB, and if you do, get an external or upgrade when that time comes.

    Yes, pay $350-$450 for your BRAND NEW console, then shell out an annual fee of $70.00 to play your own console system online.

    Some maths;

    The Xbox 360 was released in late 2005 for ~$400. For those users who purchased that original system, would have by now a) upgraded to one of the many later models of the same console after their original console failboat red ringed for a similiar upgrade cost ($400) PLUS an additional $350 for having Xbox Live Gold Membership for the past 5 years...

    PS3 users on the other hand, would only be upgrading by choice (my brother still has his original PS3 model, and it has NOT failed once), with no online game fee. Suffice to say, I sold my Xbox and moved over to ps3 gaming.

    Try to find one of the original 60gb or 80 gb ps3.. those are the best imo but good luck because a good one can be hard to find. I managed to get mine refurbished from Gamestop.

    Your gb concern requires a bit of consideration though.. some games like Gran Turismo require a major chunk of your hdd (and work best that way). If you plan to buy games/movies and d/l game videos from the PSN then you def need space. Then there's also Playstation Home if you're into the avatar world, which uses up even more space. I've got an original 80 gb console and only after about 4yrs am I kinda wanting more hdd space... and that's only because of the free games they offered a few weeks ago.

    Bottom line: buy an original ps3 and swap the hdd if needed OR buy a ps3 with the most gb and you prolly wont have to worry about space for quite some time if at all

    Don't bother with an old BC model, if you really need to play ps2 games, buy a ps2. They're dirt cheap. The best deal and the system that likely fits your needs is the current 120GB model.

    I'm guessing you are just interested in buying a PS3 from a nearby store. I'd say just buy the 120GB.

    I had an 80GB one for 2.5 years and never filled it up. It was backwards compatible and I never played PS2 games so I sold it for more than I paid for it and bought the 160GB model in January and will probably never fill this one up. Besides, for the price you'd pay for the next model up it would be cheaper just to replace the hard drive which is piss easy.

    You could get a 160gb ps3 for $299 or I think a 250gb PS3 for $399. That`s $100 for 90gb. Why do that when you could pay $93 for THIS. 1000 more GB for less than the cost of the upgrade. Or even THIS one... it`s way cheaper just to replace the hard drive in the cheapest model you can get. and like I said earlier, it`s really easy to just switch the hard drive. Open a door, take out a screw, pull out the hard drive, put the new one in, put the screw back in, shut the door... done.

    it all depends on what you're gonna do with ur ps3.. if it's only for gaming (not including download gamings) then 20gb is the best.. more GB = movie, songs and game downloads.. which I don't really like them on my ps3.. still i got 80gb original ps3 :) have it for 4-5yrs now.. me think x]
