So I've been looking around the forum and I can't find anything that explains the reputation system. When I click on people's name on the bottom right corner there will be "Reputation: XXXX" with a # of points, and when I click on my name, obviously, it is 0. So I'm wondering how the reputation system here works, or if there is a post can someone PM me it and delete this topic. Also the same for the ranking system on this forum? The program manager, when I was messing around with it, says you need 450 posts to be an advanced member, yet there's a thread in the announcements board that says otherwise. And then is there any other rankings after advanced member?

Rep is completely meaningless, don't worry about it.

Advanced membership used to be granted to members with 500 posts but people do nothing but post stupid one line posts that have nothing to do with the topic all the time so we took that off and made it a voting process. Ideally 450+ posts gets your account nominated for voting but extraordinary members can achieve that quicker.

ok sounds cool thanks a lot for explaining it to me.

if I could make a suggestion I would say instead of making it just a # of posts the reputation system should be used as well. I'm guessing thats what you mean by overhauling right?
