I plan on using this for gaming @ 1920x1080 or 1600x1200 maxed out settings (AA/AF etc) and for Adobe Creative Suite CS4 work including video editing in the future. I may or may not overclock and I bought the case rather than the 912 as most builds recommend because it had more fans. No front USB 3.0 doesn't bother me since I hardly use those anyways. I don't plan on doing SLI but may want to overclock the video card a bit, would I need 750W? I heard people say to go modular because there's a lot less clutter. Basically bought the case looking for the best combo between price and airflow and cooling.

750W is more than enough. The PSU that you've chosen isn't modular, but it shouldn't be too big a deal in a HAF case, as cable management in mid towers is much more manageable than in a SFF case. But, modular will make your life easier; you'll pay a premium for that though.

I'd recommend a Sunbeam Twister http://www.newegg.co...N82E16835207009 over the 212+. It gives better temps at a lower price
If you feel like spending more, go for a Silver Arrow or Noctua or upgrade your fans to Gentle Typhoons (~$15-$20 a fan)

    Also, mechanical keyboard

You should try to stick with a 600W PSU or possibly 650W. Personally I enjoy corsairs more than OCZ.

Overheating won't be an issue as long as you keep the case cooled with enough fans.

Especially if you're OCing your video card, don't place anything in front of the fan attached to it, even partially.

Positive Pressure + Cable management = Lower Temps

Don't herpderp random fans all over the place

Spending >$300 for a custom loop for better temps+oc than air cooling? Sure.

But in a $1k build? No.

    Overall nice build for $1,000
Well Corsair does make an all contained water cooler for only $70 USD. So if you are worried about your CPU burning up and want one there is a way to go cheap on it and not have the hassle of cutting tubes, measuring(i hope not in that order), filling with coolant. I have been recently looking at computer parts myself for a new computer.

and i have question for you,

Have you thought about possibly getting an AMD CPU?
you said you don't plan on using SLI so you could still use your EVGA card but can't SLI, unless your south bridge is a NVIDA chipset
for about the same price as your mobo and CPU from intel, you can get the same speed but with 6 cores and a AMD mobo that fits you.
The AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo is only $189.99 USD insted of the $224 USD for the i5 2500k

That was just a thought but hey you might be a Intel fanboy. I am. :D

Also for the video editing side of things.
I dont know if this would be an issue with you or with video editing in general, but
I know that the leading games now a days need more than 1GB of memory in order to render quick enough without being sketchy.
so if you are thinking about gaming with the leading games (BF3/Skyrim) you may want to get a higher end graphics card or, EVGA makes a 560 with a 1.5GB memory onboard which would work fine. If the slow rending doesnt bother you but still want a sweet GPU the 560 is great but 2 are always better :D see side note

Sidenote: (Almost positive this for Intel only side the card acts like it's in SLI or have NVIDA south bridge chipset for AMD)
EVGA just came out with a GTX 560 2win this card has the 1GB memory problem as well but out performs a 580
this card is 2 560's on one card so if you are cramped for space or dont have 2 PCI x16 slots on your mobo(who would do that anyway?) this card would be nice for less money. you will pay more then if you were to just buy 2 560's and put them in SLI but hey you are paying for the Compact part of the GPU. Also the two 560's in SLI will out perform a 580 but the 580 has more memory for rendering, 1.5GB ... all things to keep in mind.

I facepalmed at the Amd suggestion.

And most of what you said.... just... sigh. I hope he just ignores you.

Step 1. If your going to be doing video editing. Don't be an idiot. Go with the I7. Its a million times better then anything else you could dream of. Not only will your games run smoother, but video editing will be much easier.

Step 2. Your memory Cas Latency could be better (Its 9-9-9-24 instead of 7-7-7-23) Cas latency determines how fast it can refresh its own memory. A key ingredient in DDR3 memory as it has such high transfer rate. I'm not sure how close you are to your price limit (Especially after the i7) to think about getting this)

Step 3. I actually ordered that exact video card for my brother on friday. Wait off on buying until it gets here. I'll let you know how well it handles Skyrim maxed out, and even can give you stable OC settings for it :p
