Rules Revision

The Neocodex Rules have been changed to add a new rule regarding members providing misleading information to others on the site. The staff identified this as a problem on the site, and therefore it is being addressed:

Quote

5.5 - Providing intentionally false or misleading information about the services of Neocodex to other users is not allowed.
  • 5.5.1 - Neocodex members rely on community input regarding the use of services available on the site (such as how to effectively use the programs, and what users get as part of an advanced member subscription). It is important that users not provide false information to other members in a way that is somehow destructive or misleading.
  • 5.5.2 - Intentionally breaking this rule (ie. providing destructive advice on how to use programs, falsely stating the benefits of purchasing an advanced member subscription, etc.) will result in a minimum 30% warn, depending on the severity/impact of the offence.

Thanks!

When some stupid asshole asks for Abrosia settings and someone being a smart ass says "0.1, 0.1, 0.1" they are breaking a rule.
If someone clicks on Scot 's spoiler in his signature and really believe they can't see the image until they buy a Gold membership, Scot should be punished with a 30% warn.

I understand the difference between a joke and someone seriously misleading the public. Either way, it's an offense now because the rules are in place to protect the idiots among us.

You make a good point my dear punk. I have revised where my signature links to in light of this rule. :lookaround:

    A) Yes. That would be telling them to use times that would blatantly get them frozen. The person is asking for settings, and should simply be linked to the FAQ that says, Experiment and find your own times. Telling them to use 0.1 will make them think its fine, since they believe you use it. And will get them frozen

B)There is no such thing as Neocodex Gold. There is no viable way to purchase Neocodex Gold. It does not exist, has not existed, and probably will not exist. Thus its not against the rules.

This has been an issue for ages, and there has been announcements about it in the past, telling people to stop doing this. Even warnings have been issued.

Now the rule has been officially made, and no once can claim they didn't know.

Fair enough. Although isn't 30% a little harsh? :o That's the same as trying to by-pass account restrictions o.o

It reflects very very negatively on Neocodex as a whole. Thus the warning is very harsh so people will not do it.

If you went to walmart, and every time you asked someone for help, they sent you to a place you were not allowed to go, and you were arrested, would you go back to walmart?

People will see this as protecting the stupid, but the truth is that hundreds of people come here, completely new to cheating. They have never heard of an AB before. They don't know TNT catches cheaters. And thus they will inevitably ask, because we give the option to change times, "What does this time do?" If they come here, use our program, get instantly frozen. Will they keep using our programs? Of course not. And thus we lose a member of the community because someone felt it would be fun to tell them to use really stupid times.

An even worse instance is where we had a member who asked about the NP Generator and was told to buy Advanced to get it. He did just this, and then complained because there was no NP Gen. That cannot be tolerated at all. When people are paying real money, promising them things that they cannot get is simply bad for us.

I've honestly done it a few times, but that's usually after they've asked 10 times and ignored our suggestions over and over... >_<

If the user has been given proper information multiple times and refuses to listen to them. That's their fault. Our main concern is for the new people that come here. Our intention is to welcome them and keep them around, not drive them off.

I'm glad this has been put into place. Luckily for me, I never had to deal with anyone trying to troll me when I first joined but I've definitely seen it happen since then. I think with anything, people will ask questions and sometimes those questions may seem kinda dumb but if that person actually doesn't get it, as a community we should try to help them, not give them information that could potentially get them iced. kudos admins!!

Yeah, but with you it's just easier to get rid of your posts instead of expecting you to understand the rules.
