"Damn I'd love abs like that"
That's exactly the same thing my husband said to me the other day while watching some deodorant ad on TV. ( He works out a lot and wants to look healthy)
Otherwise he doesn't give a shit.

Nymh, thanks for the eye candy.

    Doesn't bother me.

This about sums it up. Two months of working out everyday will get me an almighty six pack if I were to ever bother. Problem is I don't give two fucks because bitches like me anyways.

I'm pretty sure that there are guys out there who do feel insecure about their physiques, and sometimes the so-called objectification of men may aggravate their insecurities.

Then again I don't think it's as prevalent among men as women.

And among those insecure only a small number would admit it.

What bothers me most about objectification of men in advertisement is that it creates expectations for women. Just like objectification of women creates expectations (of women) for men. Images like those bother me not because of any 'insecurity' in creates within me, but because I don't fell that 'manliness' (or even male sexiness for that matter) should be expressed in these very limiting ways. Use the expression Hegemonic Patriarchy in your paper, Profs that assign work like this love Hegemonic Patriarchy ;p

nvm... i assume the paper's been long due...
