I finally got it all downloaded yesterday and played for about a few hours. I made a Sith Warrior, and I gotta say, this game is brilliant. It's an MMORPG, but it feels like it's just an RPG. (Let me explain) The character that you create seems like the most important character in the entire game. The game revolves around you. Unlike in WoW where it just seems like tehre is a million other people exactly like you.

I was skeptical about this game at first but after trying it out I am absolutely going to buy it. I played WoW and Rift for quite a while and I can say that this game tops both of them. Im not even a crazy star wars fan. If you have played WoW, you're probably like me and just pick up a quest and follow the map without even knowing whats going on. In this game, it feels like every decision in every quest you make is important. And each quest is unique. Sure you're still killing monsters and collecting items. But you're doing it with a purpose. :)

Well that's all i wanted to vent for now :p

There was so much hype surrounding it when they first announced it and stuff. But I honestly think it's gonna flop. I maybe bit bias cause I only see it as stepping stone for Guild Wars 2. I'll probably still remain skepitical mainly cause the pvp looks so crap. On the other hand loving the character choices/story. I'm somewhat jealous :< But I'll wait 1-2 weeks after release to see if it's worthy of my money.

I see it flopping as well. Bioware are the king of recycled RPG plots and characters. I also don't see the point of an MMORPG in which it feels like a single player RPG, although this doesn't suprise me.

I absolutely love star wars fiction, but I have absolutely no faith in Bioware to break out of the monotonous gameplay that has become the norm in big budget MMO's. Topping both world of warcraft and rift (which are essentially the same game with different graphics), is not difficult and if the only compliment you can give the game is the quests are fun, I'll be sure to pass. I can do 'quests' at home. I call them chores.

It's pretty unique, you just have to try it to see.

even if the game had a good questing system, what do you have once you hit the level cap?

What makes or breaks the game really isn't the leveling process but the endgame content.

I mean the leveling may be fun sure, but what do you have left to do after you finish it once, twice, three times? The only difference between the longevity of an mmo and a single player rpg is that an mmo has continually updated content after you hit the level cap, and many of these new mmorpgs fail in providing the players something to do once they get there and so they flop after a couple of months.

    WoW with lightsabers.
The PVP was god awful and still is.

Otherwise it's pretty nice so far.
