Hey!

My name is Wes & I am new here, first off here is a little bit about myself.

My occupation is a graphic designer & website programmer. I started playing Neopets many years ago & used to be a well respected member of Slop Dog (If anyone here is familiar with it). About the same time Slop Dog closed down I stopped playing Neopets. During my time frame of playing I was one of the first to start selling Neopoints online, back then I was able to sell them at $45 per mil. I had a very successful way of making about 10 million points a week using a Neoquest II auto player. A friend of mine made this program so no one really had it & it was amazing! Even though the thing ran in C++ & looked really bad it actually played the whole game from from start to finish on all difficulties. At the end of the game it would stop so I could wait long enough before starting it back up in order to not gain a trophy therefore, staying under the radar. I ran this on about 10 accounts at once, sold the prizes on my main account then froze the accounts used to play Neoquest II. Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore due to the new Neopets login & my friend has sense disappeared lol.

Anyways, thats a bit about myself & my Neopets past I look forward to getting to know everyone here :)

For my question, I was wondering on Abrosia once I enter in my proxy settings it seems that it saves them there & all is good. So in theory the next time I log in to use it Abrosia should use the same proxy settings that I entered prior. However, the connection seems to be quick. Considering I am using a proxy everything should be running slower, but it is not. That is until I click "test proxy settings" then everything goes back to being slow (like a proxy should be). So basically i am wondering does the proxy not actually work until I click "test proxy settings"?!?! It sure seems like it...

**Please note that i am using a mac**

This is quite alarming, could I please have some insight on this? I am wondering how many people are under the influence that they are using a proxy and are not, resulting in a chain freeze.

Looking forward to a answer :). Nice to meet you all & I hope I can become a valuable member of this community.

Thank you,
Wes

Haha, yea $45 per mil :p. The site was called neopointbank.com ... Until they got me for copyright infringement & I had to re-open as thepointbank.com. The good old days :p.

Thank you for the welcomes :). I will wait and see if anyone has an answer to my question.

    Welcome.

As for your question, try packet sniffing the program under both of those circumstances with something like Wireshark and see if there's any change. Nobody else has reported a bug like that but it could be one which has slipped through the net. :p

Waser Lave: May you please explain what packet sniffing is & how do I go about doing it?

Musician: I made TONES lol. It was about 6 years ago & I was only 16... I think I was averaging about $1000 a week & it lasted about 7 months. Being that young and having that much money was trouble to say the least. My biggest issue with it was people charging back the money on paypal... I lost a load of money this way.

It's basically using software to see all the packets of data which are being passed through your network connection.

There's a basic guide on how to use it there.

I don't actually use Abrosia a lot, but I'll test that out on my mac in a few minutes /..or longer, I really need to start my homework first actually cX/ o:

Just to let everyone know, I tested this and the results are:
On a mac it does not automatically apply the proxy to your account until you click test proxy settings first :)
