So basically, I download mods and custom content for my Sims 3 ALL the damn time. The custom content needs to be placed into a mods folder. When you download more, you have to place it in the mods folder located deep within the hard drive. (Quite an annoying place to get to if you're doing this frequently.)

Is there a way to create a shortcut folder in which any file you place into the shortcut folder automatically gets added to the file folder you're trying to reach? Kind of like a shortcut triggers a .exe file, only a folder in a more friendly place (desktop, or taskbar) that re-locates any files, or just makes a copy, and then sends it to the desired folder?

I'm on Mac OSX, but if it's possible to do on Windoze, I'll be just as happy either way. Muchas gracias ;D

Right click > New > shortcut > enter the location of the folder, C:\whatever and drag and drop stuff into it.
On Win7 you can pin the shortcut folder to the taskbar or add it to the explorer tree in windows explorer and it treats it as a the target folder.

But if you access it frequently, just drag and drop the original folder to the explorer tree, no need to make a shortcut.

If you're asking if you can put the shortcut in C:\ and name it something like short and only have to type C:\short.lnk whenever you need to install, it's not possible in Windows(though it still is a superior OS)

Just go to the folder's location in Finder (the folder holding the folder) and drag the folder to your favourites in the sidebar, then you'll be able to choose it as a download location all the time

I figured out how to do it on the mac. I just right click the folder I want, and make it an affiliate. Quite simple, really ;D
I just needed to know how to do it on Windoze. (For future purposes)

Edit: btw Scot, I don't find Windoze superior in any fashion. I still use it for games, nevertheless. Otherwise, It rots on the other half of my HD. It takes for fucking ever to go through a 200-step action on photoshop when the Mac OS zooms through it. (Still don't know why that happens, but whatever.)
