I invite my fellow (see what I did there?) LOTR friends to discuss/speculate! What do you guys think of the trailer/casting/etc?

Oh man, that gave me goosebumps. Especially the part where Thorin started singing, and the Dwarves joined... hhghhnnnggg

Hell yes! I cant wait to see this one. Been waiting to see if they'd actually do one for the Hobbit. From the preview, it looks great!

It looks pretty great from the preview. I just hope they don't give the LOTR movies a bad name by screwing this up.

This preview looks AMAZING! I've been out of the loop.....so I had no idea they were turning this into a movie now

No matter how this movie goes over, I'll always be a fan of the LoTR trilogy :3

The Hobbit was my favorite book by Tolkien <3 There are no words fit to describe how excited I am for this movie. :3

The Hobbit is actually the only book in the whole series that I actually read! (I never read the LoTR ones.....I probably should....)

I read them, but it was quite a while back. I've read The Hobbit 7 times, the first of which was in the fourth grade. I love how he has maps in his books.....and dictionaries for all his made up words.....it's just the perfect fantasy adventure tale. :3

Didn't know about that, found this after seeing what you wrote.

The two parts, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again,

They are scheduled to be released on 14 December 2012 and 13 December 2013, respectively.
