I'm currently having problems with my computer because of the Firefox browser. It was fine back in v5, but I upgraded to v9 recently and now it's messed up my computer. Is anyone else having problems?

Computer search function won't work, .zip files will not open due to security issues, MOST downloads aren't saving properly - it appears on download list, cancels itself and when I restart it manually it deletes itself afterwards. (I did manage to get a big .rtf file through the other day though)
    I think that's everything - everything I've noticed anyway.

I probably should edit this to say 'because of', not 'with'

Sounds like its full of problems... why don't you uninstall it and go install the previous version back on... this wont solve the problem but at least you can continue with your routine without much hassle and just wait for another week or so for those guys to iron out these problems and intall back?

No, if I try that the computer will still be fucked - if I change browser I still can't download anything. I'll check for any updates every so often, that's a good idea. :)

Do you mean the search engine(s) on your toolbar(s) or searching anything on your computer in general (programs, files, etc.)?

Due to the browser, or is your anti-virus program(s) blocking them?

This could also be because of your anti-virus program(s). If I remember correctly starting around Firefox 3, Firefox began launching your anti-virus program(s) to scan what you've downloaded and in some cases the file(s) may not be saved after the scan.

(This might also be the reason why you can't download anything in your other browsers also)

im using ff9 and i have no issues. i use avg internet security professional. all downloads etc are working just fine.

sounds like you have a 3rd party something, drivers, etc arent functioning 100% proper or you should re install ff9.

it works fine for me, should for you as well.

In answer to all of these, it must be my virus protection then. I'll find a way to fix this - thanks everybody!
