Big deal, it's just a poor person anyway, nothing of value was lost.

But if I'm going to expect the unexpected, I should just shoot you all, right?

    I don't even...fuck...what?

He went on to tell the court: "When my Marines and I cleared those houses that day, I responded to what I perceived as a threat and my intention was to eliminate that threat in order to keep the rest of my Marines alive," he said. "So when I told my team to shoot first and ask questions later, the intent wasn't that they would shoot civilians, it was that they would not hesitate in the face of the enemy."

During the trial before a jury of combat Marines who served in Iraq, prosecutors argued Wuterich lost control after seeing his friend blown apart by the bomb and led his men on a rampage, blasting their way in with gunfire and grenades.

Its war, it would be nice if there were no civilian casualties, but that's not a very realistic view.

My nieces husband watched his best buddy get killed over there a couple years ago, he's a really nice kid but seeing that kinda chit can really fuck your head up.

Not saying its right, but not having walked in his shoes....

I remember hearing stories of Iraqi civilians and militia pretending to be dead and sometimes surrendering. When the troops would get close they would then open fire.

All's fair in love and war. It amazes me that people still think its controllable and you can set up laws governing it.

I understand there is unforeseen danger, and that civilians, even kids can't be trusted. But the American solider is supposed to have some kind of protocol, and not stoop to the level of the terrorists. But at least terrorists have the balls to be honest about what they've done. These Marines told their officers that the civilians had been killed in the bomb blast that killed their comrade. They told people the civilians were killed by shrapnel when it was obvious they had fucking bullet holes in them. They stopped a taxi cab and murdered everyone that was in it in the street and then busted into the nearest house and killed people who were probably just eating their breakfast. It was retaliation against people who were blameless and not resisting, and then they tried to cover it up.

Of course it's reality that some innocent people are going to be killed in war. But this incident is ridiculous.
