What we have here is a working buyer for the Cove.

What does it do?
Basically when you click 'check' it will check the Cove and if the item is found, it will automatically attempt the purchase. I can't guarantee you will GET the item due to the competion however this will certainly increase your chances.

What is the time in the log?
The time recorded on the log shows the time on the page the program loads. This is done so that you can compare the seconds on the page vs the seconds ticking along your screen so you can better time your clicks. The released version will have a 'time check' button which will just load a neopets page not the Cove page to prevent you wasting a refresh to see your delay.

How does it see Dubloons?
It sees the reported number of Dubloons on the Cove page. I decided to add this on the offchance there is a random event and you lose some Dubloons, you will be able to notice and not waste time.

How long will it work?
It will work until Neopets change something on the Cove. It's not restricted to simply THIS cove item unless Neopets revamp the cove before the next item is released. That being said, you can get the jump on others the next time a cove item comes out with the potential to make a shitload of NP (or lose a shitload, who knows).


The program does NOT avoid a cove ban. That's not possible. It does have HTTP proxy support (sorry, no socks proxy) so if you do get cove banned, you can switch accounts and use a proxy.

The catch for releasing?
I am in need of NP. I'm currently approximately 65m short of obtaining a new BGC after the last one was stolen. I can replace some of the NP by selling off what's left of my gallery.
Therefore, in order for me to release this program, I want codex users to raise a total of 50,000,000 NP. I wont release until I have actually collected the total amount, but will set up auctions as soon as (also read, if) the total amount has been raised for people to donate. There will be no restrictions on the program, so both normal members and advanced will have the ability to use the program, as long as you have a validated (unbanned) NeoCodex account.


I do also donate a lot to NeoCodex, so the NP isn't really coming to me, it will end up going back to you guys anyway. This will just help me regain my feet once again after losing a 90m item.

While it's great how much you donate to Codex and it sucks that you got an item stolen, I think this is a shitty way to go about releasing programs and earning NP.

It's not a way of earning NP, it's an attempt to recover an item so that I can continue to donate NP etc to Codex.

Out of everything I give away, this is the only program I am ever going to 'charge' for. By releasing this to the NeoCodex public, I am effectively eliminating my chances of ever actually acquiring a cove item as my net speed from here is nowhere near fast enough to compete with other Cove ABers, and there is too much lag to use my VPS accurately enough to click the right time.

I could of course just NOT release it at all, and continue my efforts at trying to score a couple of the items every time they are released instead.


For the record, the total amount I have given away to members of this site both as random gifts and as prizes is well over the 200m mark.

I dunno, I just think it's a bad way to go about making NP back. If people are willing to pay for the program though I guess there's no problem. Good luck with it

Edit: Oh, you edited Like I said, the amount you've donated here is great! But donations sort of lose their worth imo when you start asking for NP back because you donated in the past.

I don't expect everyone to agree with what I have asked for whilst others do. You can't please everyone.

Yeah, I hit post too early. I'm not asking for NP back. I'm asking for NP for a new service. I'm not asking for 'donations'. The only difference between me 'selling' this and others selling lends etc is I'm not selling this particular item to a single user, but allowing everyone to collectively put towards it and have it released. Seeing as cove items generally end up being an investment worth well over what I've asked, I dont think the goal is out of reach. I've helped out plenty of people here including yourself and Tsvete and not ever expected anything in return.

I'm not demanding people pay me for this, I am offering one of my few programs I was to keep as a personal program as an incentive for others to help me out. I would have hoped that certain members would have had a more respectful attitude instead of telling me it's a shitty thing to do... and that's pretty much all I have to add to this.

I'll keep a tally of the users and amounts in the first post. Once it gets to the amount I'll PM each person in turn with an Auction link for an item with the amount they have pledged and they can bid to that.

Look at it this way, you're buying a service, and then those neopoints will mostly likely be donated back at some point. Everyone wins.

Nobody from Codex. It was done as a 'legit' lend on Neo, from an account that had had Suap, MSPP lends done on the boards before. One of the few 'legit' lends I did in order to keep my lending looking legit.

Next time around why not stage a few lends that look legit with a few trusted members of our own community here rather than take a risk with someone you don't know at all?

If it were elitist only then you can take my donation off cause it wouldn't help me at all since I pay for my Advanced and I haven't been voted in.

Advanced only I can see it being used as an additional perk to being an Advanced member and it might go to further sales.

Public for anyone would just make so those hundreds of guests that we have lurking would take it and few, if any, of us would actually be able to use it and get anything from it.

The only reason I say is, that most people who will donate (me included, just need to get some more pure gathered so I don't seem too cheap:P) will be advanced..

It's like, I can see it being uber popular and therefore chances of getting anything if it was public would be slim to nil

Which is why honestly you could have made the NP just by asking for donations from people here For example, I'll probably give you a mil or two if I have it (I have no idea how much I have), but the program has no influence because I don't use them. There would be plenty of people here who would do the same.

The program is simply , but as itsfrananne said, If anyone could use the program it would really narrow the chance of getting anything so either Advanced restricted or advanced perks should be implemented

yeah, like I said, I'm not trying to be like "you can't afford/haven't been about long enough to deserve it #elite" I just think people that contribute to the site (through content or advanced subscription should have better odds when using it

I don't feel right asking for something and not giving something in return. Hence why I'm asking for the NP but in return am offering the program as a 'service'. With how basic this one is, you should be able to use it in WINE or Parallels or some shit.

As for who it would go to, like I said earlier I would have liked to have given it to whatever the members who donated asked for (which would likely be Advanced anyway)

I'd say release the program FIRST to the top 30 or so Benefactors, then as many copies as you like to other Benefactors after that.
