&It's always bugged me that there are some species with only one Royal UC ><
(No UC RG Acaras, RB Aishas, RB Grarrls, or RB Lupes even though there are its counterparts

Shoyrus were much better, too. For a start, they were so happy looking.



Also, old Christmas pets. They actually looked cute. I painted a Bruce Christmas before I realised what had happened with conversion (I'd been away from Neopets for years and knew that something was off, but couldn't place it because I had the dumbs) and was really confused as to why it wasn't a nice as I remembered it being. I mean, look at that little guy.

They're lovely - so full of character. Unlike the bland, customisable things that replaced them. Why didn't that poor RB get to even keep his beard?

The Royals do seem to be one of the most messed up conversions - probably largely because of the change in stance, but also because they had previously been one of the more distinctive colours. I mean, look at the RG Elephante! So sweet. And the RB Kyrii is hilariously snooty.

Come on now... I still really like Shoyru's. I think the change in perspective was one of the better conversions. Yes UC's are cool but the Shoyru actually benefited from the updated art, they only had one eye before in normal stance and now they have two eyes. I'll admit their poses with them flying and moving about were epic but to me it is a small price to pay when my favorite species gets to have both of their eyes.

I don't really have too much of a preference between the old Shoyrus and the ones now, although they still just show one eye don't they? o:

Ever tried customising them now? They either look fat or just plain funny looking in my opinion.
The only species that benefitted were Bruces.

I'm glad most if not all darigans kept their old poses, even though having bandaged pets was nice
Shame for the Halloween color, only kept 3 poses... wtf.

I never realize how much I really miss old neopets until I read threads like these. Just looking at these pets and realizing how much they such now just makes me sad.

I can barely stand most pets that aren't quad now because I hate having pets with that balled up fist thing.


I think I miss UC hissi the most, though. Just the old basic pose. When they actually had wings, not weird wing-hands that ball into a fist.

But they don't show both eyes in the generic poses! The UC Shoyrus were more likely to offer a perspective where you could see both eyes. Compare and contrast time!


Plushie Shoyru: C: One Eye. UC: Two eyes. Winner: UC! The UC also wins the bonus cuteness round.



Here we have a wild Mutant Shoyru. For some reason, TNT decided Mutants were so ugly, no-one would ever want to dress them up and thus they were spared some of the worst parts of conversion - like all the poses for one species being identical. Thus, this round of the eye contest is a tie. But the UC is still cuter as it is displaying the joyful nature that once distinguished Shoyrus.



Once again, the UC slams the converted version of itself with double the number of eyes visible. Plus, to me at least, the converted one looks like it ate a bowl of ketchup, realised it had dried onto its skin, and then painted dots on its nose to make it look like it did it on purpose. Whereas I can totes believe the UC has some Princess Amidala style freaky space-age make-up regime going on.



It's another tie, with the converted and unconverted both hiding their lazy eyes. Or pink eyes. Since we can't see them, it's entirely possible they don't have eyes, just gaping holes full of maggots. But whilst I would let the converted sit outside in the cold, with its smug face and obnoxiously prominent shoes, I would most definitely let the UC Shoyru into my Neohome. Even if it did turn its head around and reveal a writhing bundle of maggots.
