I realize this is a site geared towards cheating, but I can't be the only one who plays legitimately!
Does anyone else like to enter the site competitions?
Since I'm too much of a pussy to cheat, I don't want my brains to turn to mush by playing flash games meant for children all day long, and my internet connection atm is too shitty to RS or play KQ, this is how I earn a respectable amount of NPs.

Personally, I love drawing for the Art Gallery and I love participating in the Random Contest even more. I also like to write a silly article from time to time. Not only does it offer a creative outlet, but the prizes can be pretty awesome (most of the time) too.

Some of the best things I've won so far include a Feloreena (worth 3mil at the time,) a Faerie PB (before they deflated to 1mil,) a Plushie PB, a Darigan PB, and many others.
Sometimes they can be little bastards though and just give me a codestone.

The publicity is always pretty cool, too. I love getting NMs from people who really enjoyed my pictures or articles. This one was my favorite:

The best thing that I ever won was for winning my guilds Key Quest Quarterly Championship four times in a row, I was awarded with a Monoceraptors Claw.

No one thought anyone would ever win the Championship every quarter for an entire year yet I did.

I won a silver poetry competition trophy along with a orange petpet paintbrush not so long ago. First and last time I entered in a competition lol.

As far as site competitions I was published in the Halloween Edition of the Neopian Times and I was awarded with a Halloween Paint Brush. Best thing TNT ever did for me.

That's about the only contest I have ever won on-site legit

Participated once in the random contest and thought I'd win.
Didn't win and saw that other entries not as good as mine IMO won second places.. decided not to try again.

And I don't think I won anything from neopets at all.

Nice. If I had a decent internet connection again I would love to enter something like that. I end up winning most of the time thanks to my processor. The mini games run so well for me I'm nearly impossible to beat, haha. Especially in the berry-shooting one.

Lucky! Unfortunately poetry is not my forte, although I would love to eventually have one of those trophies. Maybe if I actually applied myself...... I'm going to add that to my list of Neo-goals. "Write a kick-ass poem."

Oshit, really? I didn't know they gave out prizes. Only for Halloween, or all special edition NTs I wonder?

Lol, I suck at both of those. The only reason I have my LC trophy is because I got really, REALLY lucky. It was seriously just a random guess, haha. xD

They're assholes like that. Especially in the Art Gallery. It seems the stuff I spend DAYS on and looks absolutely gorgeous never gets in..... but then when I spend 30 minutes on a picture, they take it. I don't get it. -_-

And they always choose the same people, it's ridiculous.

Well as far as Key Quest goes, the best are boiled down to myself, sportsandmusic, and aquamarine. There are no better players based on our observations. Besides sheer luck and bad luck we hardly ever use. There is a lot of strategy that goes into playing KQ, if it is a map I am familiar with I normally have a pretty complicated strategy.

*It is always fun to play someone who is an actual challenge though. Walking all over people gets boring, hence why I rarely play any more.

I always play with my favorite dark token on Sweet 1, I think. I can not tell you how many times I've been quit on because I got the super key grabber first turn, lol.
My best game yet was won in three turns, the other player was furious. xD

I agree. It does get pretty old raping the inexperienced players, but the prizes sure don't. The main reason I play is so I can hoard codestones to train my pet.

I got extremely lucky one time and I beat sportsandmusic in just two turns, I can't even beat noobs that fast! Dark token, Ti-Key got Super Boots of flight and right then the RE for 12-Sided Die from King Roo appeared and I literally got max roll available. 36 spaces in one turn, and I got to roll again from the Dark square got another roll of 12 there... so in a single turn I moved 48 spaces.

Very impressive! I was playing the Halloween board with a light token, I'm pretty sure the same exact thing happened, except I definitely didn't get max roll xD It was enough to clear the board though!

I'm very inconsistent with how much I play, lol. Sometimes I'll play a game and lose interest and go do something else, but then there's times when I get really into it and I'll play 20+ games in a day. I have over 100 unopened keys from days like that, which is nice because I can redeem 10 a day without actually having to do anything, lol. Not with all these damn promos going on lately, though.

I used to play 25-35 games of KQ daily through completion. I was making 100k-300k daily from the prizes. More than that on some days when I'd get that piece of the Secret Lab Map worth 500k+ or a good PB. The best PB I ever got from KQ was a Maraquan PB which was the first time anyone had ever reported being given one as a reward. I screenshot proofed it for my guild. It was crazy >.<

Damnnn, nice! I've won the 500k piece a few times, but that's the best I've had. All this conversation makes me really want to play, it's too bad the connection here is such bullshit. All my poor little tokens must feel neglected.

That is odd. Was that the past Halloween's NT's? My article/comic/on-going story got published and I got a Transparent Paint Brush. Are the prizes different for everyone?

It was for Issue #.467 the Halloween edition not for last Halloween but the year before. Their neomail stated that everyone who got published would receive one.

You know, I totally forgot the pet spotlight even existed.......maybe I should give it a try. I'm sure my pet wouldn't mind another shiny trophy. :3
I wonder if there's a ton of competition for that sort of thing or not.

Think the best thing I can remember winning legit more recently was a Pirate Petpet PB from the Krawken. Havent played much KQ since the minigames lag so much comparative to the people I play against.

I've won a Lenny Conundrum legitly once! I just typed in a random number and won. I still remember the number. 42! (Which is totally the answer to everything)
