Do you know what I don't see? An anime thread, thats what. Talk about what you are watching now, want to watch, or have already watched. Have any favorites? What about anything you despise? Post here!

To start things off, have some Kenshiro

Bleach is by far the most awesome.
Naruto second.
One piece, Full metal alchemist and D.Gray-man were good but I never got round to finishing/catching up with them.

I don't really watch enough to have seen many smaller, less popular animes, though I have seen a few.

Kenshiro was great, I've seen too many animes to list them all but you can check out my list here (I haven't updated it in months)

Right now I'm watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes

http://www.anime-pla...oxicsnipe/anime

I have a more recent list for 2011 on some forum but I need to find it.

Sheesh. Thats alot of anime. Certainly alot more than what I have watched. Do you have any recommendations for a dark deconstruction-esque anime? I just finished watching Madoka a few weeks ago and Im craving for more anime that take apart the established

I rarely actually watch anime (I could count how many anime I've watched using the fingers from just one hand cx) since I very much prefer reading manga instead, although if I don't get flamed for posting manga rather than anime here are some that I've recently read:
Death Note (for the billionth time)
Demon Diary
Prince of Tennis
New Prince of Tennis

If you haven't already, go watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica!! Oh wait you already have, heh~ Maybe watch Neon Genesis Evangelion or Paranoia Agent, or perhaps The Tatami Galaxy? They aren't exactly super 'dark', but they're pretty damn good, so watch them anyways c:

Rather than recommending some bad and generic 5,000-episode-long shounens, you should totally watch these!

  • Mononoke (not the Ghibli one)
  • Kowarekake no Orgol
  • Death Note
  • Ano Hana (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai)
  • Bakemonogatari
  • Clannad and Clannad After Story
  • Dennou Coil
  • Nichijou
  • Summer Wars
  • 5 Centimeters Per Second
  • Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
  • Redline
Heheheh :3 Note that most of these don't have dubs if you're into that whole thing (only DN and Clannad do, I think), so your only option is torrenting/watching streams ewww and reading subs. I haven't really been able to keep up with the newer animes thanks to my horrible connection/not being able to torrent things and not having a computer altogether, so you might have to look into that!

The one thing I really hate about newer anime is the quality of animation. I mean.... it's so fucking derpy and choppy and lazy nowadays! Not trying to be all "ooohh 90s anime iz the best ever!!!" or anything, it's just they put a lot more effort into it back then than now. Sure, there are still animes being made with great detail and shading and lovely animation (Aoi Bungaku for example), but it's just getting outnumbered ;w;

Compare this....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrO0Us4pWO8

Look at all of that minimal shading, bad mouth syncing and just everything about that ugh
... with this!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t26m_Q6ENo

Mmmmmnnnggh oh god that art style and delicious solid shading and smoother than the smoothest smooth jazz animation and seven years of hard work and hand-drawn frames~

.................... Ok I'll stop forcing my weeaboo and art sillies on you :V

A post I made on the anime I watched in 2011, as for dark animes? Berserk, Paranoia Agent, Serial Experiments Lain, Denpa, Gekijouban Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners Let me know if you want more because there are many good animes out there that are pretty dark.

Fate/Stay Night is probably my favorite, as Rin is full of win.
I generally like lighter anime though... so take that as you will.
Other things i reccomend in no particular order
  • Death Note
  • Clannad
  • Redline
  • Go!Sick
  • Angel Beats
  • Monster
  • LuckyStar
  • Shakugan no Shana
  • Durarara!!
  • FMA
One of these things is not like the others!

You can't post episodes here, but people can always google it. I never finished the whole anime, I heard the ending was really bad so I didn't watch the last 3 episodes or so.

Watch the prequel of Fate/Stay, it is WAY better than Fate/Stay Night

Here's a really good reference. It has pretty much all of the essentials on it.

So far Spirited Away and Paprika are my favorite anime movies. I know they're both the generic answer for favorite anime but Spirited Away is just amazing after I found out Miyazaki's intent with the film (to educate young girls about the horrors of sex baths).

Do you even get much of a crowd? From what I remembered there was only a few of us there whenever I showed up.

Now I'm a stickler for streaming, 1080p HD or bust.

When I do stream for a group on steam I get about 5 people.

Has anyone here ever seen soul eater, or claymore? What about D-gray man or Full metal alchemist? Those are my favorites.
