the last time i restock legitly.. my refesh rate was less definitely less than 2 second intervals... and interesting fact was.. i restocked for 10 hours straight at one time... but mostly around 2-3hours.. didn't get frozen at all..

and as for restock ban.. refreshing a few tabs at once does not increase the chances of restock banned.. since i was sitting next to a friend who had 5 tabs opened and din get restocked ban while i was immediately ban after less than an hour restocking on 1 shop.. restock ban is random and increased tabs(shop) refreshing does not affect it.

Made some requested editing to this thread, hopefully with Abrosia being down means more of us will be manually restocking and this is a good tool to use if you aren't familiar with it.

I find that using your ring finger to refresh using f5 and having your thumb on the space bar to quickly enter ok on the pop up works good. Using space instead of enter is quicker but I think it only works on firefox on windows.

Also if a few good items restock and you want to open them in new tabs, if you have a mouse with a middle button/scroll button use can just click it with that to open in a new tab. Works in firefox.
