I had a quick question Scot... I wanted to start investing in some items now and that's when i realized something...

Do the faeries ask for the lower rarity items more then the higher rarity ones? Because i was just going to buy up the highest rarity items... But if the lower rarity items are the ones most asked for then I will probably make more profit selling a shitload of R66 items then just selling a couple R69.

- edit -

Also... maybe this is too much to ask... But is there any way to know if new items that are released that fall into the correct rarity value and might be possible faerie requested items might be worth investing in? although new items are usually overpriced for the first couple of months until the price settles.

Its a bit late to take advantage of this, as it was a month long event where everyone got a quest everyday. Now not enough quests are being given out for this to work.

Not true, while the investments will not pay out immediately anymore, you can begin to invest at any time for the next faerie event. There is no guarantee that it will be a repeating event, but since it has now happened two years in a row it is safer to assume that it will happen next year than it was to assume it would have happened this year.

I don't know how much more or less often the faeries ask for lower rarity items. I would assume that it is an equal amount as the higher ones, however.

To answer your theory about selling butt-tons of lower rarity items, here is a quick breakdown for the Air Faerie:

Posted Image

As you can see it would take selling dozens or even hundreds of items of lower rarities to equal the same profit of just one item of the higher rarities. Not all items of each rarity will be equally profitable - I picked three to four random items of each rarity to give a good overall comparison.

From personal experience, it is difficult to time selling more than 100-150 of each item per account after the price starts to climb without having many left over when they begin to deflate again.

This guide is relevant again now that the Fortune Cookies are inflating the quest items.

Should "Faerie Event" still be in the title?

This may be a silly question, but for those of us who in the past have only played during the Summer months; what Month do these quests occur?

February but at the moment the nc cookies are inflating the number of quests available so now is not a good investment period. And there is no guarantee that this event is permanently recurring.

*sigh* thanks bud

Anyway I noticed that some of the items listed in my shop sold out. It seems like most of it comes from the igloo itself

Prices haven't spiked like they have for a lot of the items... or maybe I'm just picking dead-end ones now that were good a year ago -_-

You can probably make a bit of profit right now but if you actually want to make a great deal from this you'd have to had bought the item a few weeks ago.

Oh I just saw this thread, and the price is already high, for example, Janitor Bucket was 800NPs, now it's 6000NPs, should I still invest 100+ of them?

It's a little late to start investing.

Yes the hoarding phase is over because the event has already started.

What you can do is directly autobuying efforts towards shops that carry these items.

Thank you Elindoril and scot. also I noticed that this year the price rise percentage isn't as many as last 2 years. Is it because of less people are playing neopets?

No, fortune cookies released after this was written closed the gap between pre-event and event prices due to the small but noticeable increase in demand for these items off-season.

Excellent guide, thanks! I'm going to start ABing in grooming and see if i can make some money.

Edit:  I know its nothing significant but I've been averaging close to 100k a day with this method after only ABing for like an hour/two each day
