Daily Dare

Welcome to Daily Dare, the event that's all about playing games, winning prizes, and letting Aristotle A. Avinroo know (in a kind and gracious way) just how much better you are at games. Join AAA and his sister Abigail for this year's Daily Dare!

Now that Daily Dare is over, make sure you pick up your prizes.

Basic Information:

Starting on March 7th through March 25th, you get to play against either AAA or Abigail! If you are confident you can master AAA, then pick his challenge. The easier challenge score will be given by Abigail. Once you choose your opponent, you are not allowed to change your choice. For these regular challenges, if you lose an AAA one and do not meet or beat his score for the rest of that day, you will be given the Abigail prize at the end of the Daily Dare event. If you lose an Abigail challenge, you will get no prize for the day.

This year, if you complete each challenge on the day it was released, you will win a bonus prize in addition to the regular AAA or Abigail prize.

Concept-

The basic concept is the same as past Daily Dares: you must pick one of two scores (AAA's or Abigail's). Abigail's score will be much lower than AAA's, giving non-gamers something more manageable to reach! Once you have chosen an Avinroo, play the game and meet or beat their score! When doing the NC challenge, simply go to the NC challenge section and challenge Lulu, then play the game and try to meet or beat her score. There are fabulous prizes to be won (including wearables!).

You cannot do the basic challenge, double dare challenge, team challenge, NC challenge, or staff tournament voting on your side account(s)!

Strategy (for playing legitimately)-

Who should you go up against? Abigail or AAA? AAA's prize will almost always be more valuable simply because his scores are so high and not as many Neopians will be winning them. Luckily, there is a little method to get the best possible prize. Before choosing who to challenge, play the game. Try to score as high as you can. Once you get a satisfying score that either beats AAA or Abigail, do not send it! Go back to the Daily Dare page and challenge the appropriate person with a score lower than or equal to yours. Then you can go back and send the score, and it will count for the challenge! (Try to beat AAA's score though. Sometimes, it is not as hard as you think!) Always try to complete each challenge the day it was released for a bonus prize.

Team Challenge

The Daily Dare includes three/four* Team Challenges that run from Friday at 12AM NST until Sunday at 11:59PM NST.

To complete a Team Challenge, you must select an opponent (AAA/Abigail) to challenge, invite a neofriend to join the challenge/accept a request, and then both beat/match the chosen opponent's score.
Once you and your partner beat/match AAA's/Abigail's score both users will be awarded the AAA/Abigail prize along with a bonus Team Challenge prize.
If you/your partner fails to get the required score then neither of you will receive the bonus Team Challenge prize.

Team Challenge FAQs

What is a Team Challenge?
For Team Challenges, pair up with a Neofriend and then challenge AAA or Abigail together. You can both win an extra prize if you both defeat your opponent.

When are the Team Challenges?
Daily Dare includes four Team Challenges. Each Team Challenge will run from Friday through Sunday. The first Team Challenge will begin Friday, March 9th, 2012, at 12:00 AM NST and last until Sunday night, March 11th at 11:59 PM NST. (NST is equal to U.S. Pacific Time.)

What if my Neofriend hasn’t matched or beaten their challenger’s score by the end of the Team Challenge? Can I still get the bonus prize?
Unfortunately, you only earn the Team Challenge bonus prize if you both match or beat AAA’s or Abigail’s score by the end of the Team Challenge.

What if I challenged AAA in a Team Challenge and my Neofriend can’t beat AAA? Will we qualify for the Abigail Team Challenge bonus prize?
Neither of you will win a Team Challenge bonus prize, because your Neofriend failed to match or beat AAA's score. For Team Challenges, you won't qualify for the Abigail bonus prize if you challenged but couldn't beat AAA.

I took the Team Challenge but decided not to invite a Neofriend to play it with me. Can I still get the prize?
The only way you can earn the Team Challenge prize is if you invite a Neofriend or accept a Neofriend's invitation. Then, both of you must match or beat either AAA's or Abigail's score (depending on the opponent you challenged) by 11:59 PM NST Sunday night to qualify for the Team Challenge prize.

I took the Team Challenge but decided not to invite a Neofriend to play it with me. Can I still get the regular Daily Dare prize if I beat or match AAA's or Abigail's score?
Definitely. You don't have to complete the Team Challenge to earn the regular Daily Dare challenge item for the Friday game. As long as you beat or match AAA's or Abigail's score, you'll earn their prize. In fact, if you beat or match AAA's or Abigail's score on the challenge day and have accepted the Team Challenge, you'll also earn the bonus prize for beating or matching their score on the day the challenge was released.

How many teams can I create or join in each Team Challenge each week?
You’re only allowed to do one Team Challenge per week. That means if you accept an invitation from a Neofriend for a Team Challenge, you’ll only be able to participate in that particular Team Challenge for that week.

What happens when I withdraw an invitation?
If you withdraw an invitation, your Neofriend will no longer be able to play the Team Challenge with you. They might see your invitation on their Team Challenge page, but when your Neofriend clicks on it, they’ll be notified that the Team Challenge is no longer available.

Can I withdraw an invitation if my Neofriend has already accepted it?
No, sorry. Once an invitation has been accepted, you must complete the Team Challenge with that Neofriend in order to win the Team Challenge prize.

I sent five invitations for a Team Challenge this week, and it's telling me I can't send any more invitations out. Why?
That's because you can only send out five invitations at any given time. If you accidentally sent a Team Challenge invitation out to the wrong person or want to invite different Neofriends, you'll need to withdraw some of the invitations you've sent out.

• Play on Hard difficulty
• prioritize the items ( the more valuable items give you more points--tiny snowballs, faerie snowballs, decorated neggs, etc ) go for those first
• Mind your space--get a feel for how your tail moves and how well you can maneuver around walls and tight spaces.

The NC Adventure Challenge

Basic Information

The NC Adventure Challenge this year is titled "The Case of the Missing King". In it, Lulu is attempting to find the missing King Roo, along with missing pieces of the new Games Room. You can help her on her adventure by voting for where she should look next, and receiving a prize the following day based on the community result. This requires you to purchase a special Adventure Book pack from the NC Mall. You can purchase Adventure Book packs in increments of 5 or 13; these are only valid for the 2012 Daily Dare. In order to complete the entire NC challenge, you must buy the 13-pack. If you have more than 13 plays, the extras cannot be applied for extra game challenge plays. You can trade books if you want (see our NC Mall guide). Unlike previous years, you can play the Adventure Challenge on your side account(s), since it does not require sending any game scores.

After you have purchased an Adventure Book, you'll need to go to your inventory to activate it, and then forward to the main page for The Case of the Missing King. You'll be able to cast your vote for the current day, and return the next day to receive your prize. The F.A.Q. is a bit confusing on this point, but it sounds like you'll need to select "Claim Prize" at the same time as you vote if you want to receive that day's prize. You can only claim one prize per day, and each prize can only be claimed once - so unlike previous challenges, once an item has been released, it's no longer available. If this changes with the official release, we'll be sure to let you know!

What is the Case of the Missing King?
The Case of the Missing King is an NC Mall event where you collect daily prizes while joining Lulu in her adventure as she searches Neopia to find King Roo and the missing piece of the new Games Room. Help Lulu choose her path and receive an NC item the next day based on total community votes. Visit the NC Mall to purchase an Adventure Book to start the journey! Once you activate your Adventure Book come back daily to receive your prizes!

What is the duration the Case of the Missing King?
The Case of the Missing King will run from March 9 through March 21, 2012. You can join the event anytime within that period by purchasing an Adventure Book in the NC Mall.

Can I claim prizes for days that have passed?
Yes, you can claim prizes for days that have passed. Please keep in mind that if you claim a prize it does not mean you claimed the NC prize awarded that day. Once you claim a prize you will receive the prize awarded on the following day in your inventory.

Can I collect prizes for each day more than once?
No, unfortunately prizes can only be claimed once per day on each account.

Can I participate in the Case of the Missing King on side accounts?
Yes, you can participate in the Case of the Missing King on side accounts.

Help, I accidentally picked up a prize for the wrong day!
Unfortunately once you confirmed the use of a page from your adventure pack there isn’t any way to change it. Please keep in mind that voting does not mean you are awarded the NC prize on that day. Once you vote or claim a prize you will receive the item awarded on the following day in your inventory.

How many Adventure Books can I purchase?
You can purchase as many Adventure Books as you like. Please keep in mind you can only activate and consume up to 13 days in this event.

I voted today, I can’t find my prize!
By voting, you’re helping Lulu figure out her next step in her adventure to find King Roo and the missing piece of the new Games Room. By helping Lulu, the NC item you receive will be based on how she gets to her next destination the next day. After all, adventures take a little bit of time .

I’m picking up prizes for previous days but don’t see the prize on my adventure book.
Remember, NC prize items voted on or picked up will appear in your adventure book the next day since Lulu needs that much time to get to her next destination and pick a prize up for you.

Is there a time limit for claiming my daily prize?
No, if you activated the Adventure Book, you will be able to collect daily prizes as long as the page is still accessible.

Will I receive a bonus item for participating in the Case of the Missing King?
Yes, you will receive one bonus item for participating in the event once you activate your Adventure Book Pack.

Gold – Beat AAA at each challenge.
Silver – Complete all challenges before the end of Daily Dare, beating AAA at least once.
Bronze – Beat Abigail at each challenge.
Participant – Beat or match at least one AAA or Abigail score by the end of the event.
Whether or not you participate every day does not play into the trophy tiers.

FAQ:

Do I get a prize for playing every day?
If you complete a challenge on the day it is released, you will receive a bonus prize with your other prize that day. You won't receive this prize if you complete the challenge after the day on which it is released.

I challenged AAA, but I changed my mind. Can I switch to Abigail?
Sorry, no. Once you have selected a challenger, you cannot change. Make sure you practise before making your choice, so you know which opponent you want to challenge.

What is Double Dare?
Double Dare is a special challenge during Daily Dare. To take the Double Dare, you must challenge AAA and match or beat his score. If you succeed, you'll receive AAA's and Abigail's prizes for the day! If you fail, however, you'll receive nothing.

What if I miss a day?
You can still earn the prizes for that day by matching or beating AAA's or Abigail's score for that game on another day. However, you won't get the bonus prize for that day.

How long will Daily Dare last?
Daily Dare will run for 18½ days, starting on Wednesday, March 7th at site sync and running through Sunday, March 25th at 11:59:59 PM NST. (NST is equal to U.S. Pacific Time.)

I challenged AAA, but I can't seem to match or beat his score on today's game -- can I still win a prize?
Yes, if you match or beat Abigail's score, you will win the Abigail prize for that challenge. You will not receive this prize until the end of the event in case you end up beating AAA's score. You will win AAA's prize if you beat or match his score on another day. However, you won't get the bonus prize if you cannot beat or match AAA's score on the day the game is launched. Also, if you don't eventually beat or match AAA's score in every challenge prior to midnight on March 25, 2012, you won't qualify for the gold trophy tier.

What are Neofriends and how do I find one?
Neofriends are other Neopians who have either requested to be your Neofriend or who have accepted your request to be their Neofriend. You can get to know other Neopets players on the Neobeards, guilds, etc. When you meet someone you’d like to be Neofriends with, just send them a request. If they accept it, you’re Neofriends! It’s a good idea to Neomail other players before sending them a Neofriend request, just to introduce yourself and make sure that you have plenty in common.

You can get AAA's score legitly by completing the first level without dying, then eat your way to the bottom of level 2 and let the clock run out, repeat 2 more times and you should have the required score when you reach the middle of level 2 on the 3rd go

I don't know if it still works now, but when I did the '10 Daily Dare, I'd play the game first and if the score was higher than AAA's, I'd go challenge him and then send score. Just to make sure.

I always played legit until this year, couldn't beat AAA on just a few games and missed the highest tier trophy every year. If I have bad time with any games this year, I'll simply use AoB.

It's for the Team Challenges I think. After reading the help page on Neopets I still don't get the gist of Team Challenges though.

-Daily Dare includes four Team Challenges. Each Team Challenge will run from Friday through Sunday. The first Team Challenge will begin Friday, March 9th, 2012, at 12:00 AM NST and last until Sunday night, March 11th at 11:59 PM NST. (NST is equal to U.S. Pacific Time.)
-For Team Challenges, pair up with a Neofriend and then challenge AAA or Abigail together. You can both win an extra prize if you both defeat your opponent.

don't forget that you can just play the game, before you choose AAA or abi, just to see how many points you manage to get. if you get enough for AAA, just challenge him, before you send the score. i actually didn't think i can beat him on snowmuncher, but i did. HOORAY! i thought i don't feel like playing DD this year but now that it started... *SIGHS* does anybody sell nc? lol sorry :x

I already put that in the Basic Information (under Strategy), but yeah, that's an awesome technique ^^~

thanks for day 2! maybe you should add the legal cheats for the clown game, since that score is pretty easy to get with them.
