We have a new trader feedback system. You can reach it through the User Feedback tab at the top of the page, or by navigating to http://www.neocodex.us/forum/feedback.

This system is similar to the old trader feedback system we used to have that Noit wrote. However, Noit's system had some issues when we upgraded to the latest invision power board software. We've put this new system in place so that users can continue to leave feedback for other traders.

There are a few differences from the old system: you can leave feedback as a buyer, seller, or a trader, you must put in a topic link of where the trade took place, and can rate the transaction as positive, negative, or neutral. It seems like users were rating the entire transition rather than the components, so this system should fit well with what we're already used to doing.

Furthermore, all of your previous trader scores have been transitioned over to the new system. We are currently rebuilding profile data (we're currently about 25% done). Once that is done, you'll see your previous trader feedback information displayed in your profile. We took each feedback score you received in the previous system as a combined score between 0 and 1. The score mappings to the new system are:
  • 0% to 32% maps to negative feedback
  • 33% to 65% maps to neutral feedback
  • 66% to 100% maps to positive feedback
There may be some feedback scores which were incorrectly categorized. Once the trader feedback data appears in your profile, please check it over to make sure that it is all correct. If you see anything that is wrong, please let us know and we'll fix it for you :).

We hope you enjoy using the new trader feedback system to find honest users to trade with. If you guys have any questions, comments, or concerns please post them in this thread and we'll try our best to answer them for you :).

Remember: if you absolutely, absolutely trust the user you are trading with, the safest method to trade is to find a middleman.

I actually really like this new system. We'll get used to it like the new layout, haha.

Should we transfer over feedback ourselves from the Trade rep thread or is that going to be transferred as well?

I'll transfer the feedback over from there. I can do it much more quickly with a program than a human can do it anyway :p.

On this note, most of my feedback on the thread is with my old username, that won't be a problem right?

Nice guys!
Whats the difference between buyer/seller and a trader? I thought a buyer/seller = trader. Can we add middleman ratings?

I guess trader is if both people are trading something equally like a pet for a pet or something rather than one person buying or selling from the other.

Please keep the format the same as it is :p. The usernames are preferrably case sensitive, but if one or two get by, it's not a big deal :p.

Once we have the data in this format, I can write a script that goes over all the data and puts it into the database in the right places. I should have checked out that topic before taking on the task :p. It's long! Clearly, we've needed this system for a while :p.

Can we somehow change "Trader" to "Middleman" in some language files to make Noit happy? Then, we can support Middleman ratings too? I haven't looked at the code for the mod yet, so hopefully it's easy. :p

I'm willing to do this for the entire thread; can you explain what the number means? 2 positive, 1 neutral, 0 negative?

I'm trying to leave feedback for someone I traded with in March, but every time I try to submit I get this error:
"A required field has not been filled in, please review the form."

Either I'm a dumbass, or something isn't working.

Yeah, exactly. I replaced it in the quoted text above. You can just use the real words for now. I can convert it back to the integer later. Sorry about that :p.

Probably something isn't working. Could you take a screenshot of what you're trying to fill in?

If all the data from the old system has been converted I guess we can disable it now so it only displays the new trade feedback scores on user's sidebars rather than showing both?

Really nice, it's a lot simpler than the old system. I'm glad that we finally got this feature back.
Are the negative reps here to stay?

I can already see this feature being heavily abused.

Nope, it was announced in this topic: http://www.neocodex....tation-enabled/

Maybe I'm changing things too quickly :p. You young whippersnappers should be able to keep up though!

Looks like you are using a PM link -- you can't use that in this system. You have to use a topic link.
