Shield of Faerieland was added to the Hidden Tower this Fyora Day.

This shield is a little pricey for a full air blocker, I'd go for more suitable alternatives, Ring of Weightlessness (r101) or the Shield of Soaring (If you can get one at a decent price, r180)

However the following items were retired to make room for the Shield of Faerieland.

Too cute to be a BD weapon.

Also looks a bit girlish? Faerieland and its faeries..

It's an effective blocker for the Sword of Ari and other Air Heavy weapons; I could be a pile of dung but so long as it is effective I wouldn't care.

I mean, our best weapon (in terms of attack icons) is a pea. :p

The fire and physical block are well worth the extra few mil that it takes to upgrade from RoW.

At least they nerfed it, this would have killed the BD if it still reflected air.

I was wondering that. I was almost sure when it got released, it was reflecting something. This explains that I didn't see a dream but it is nerfed, thanks for the info and saving my mental health.

Can't see myself personally picking this up in my set. Pretty situational.

I guess it was nice we didn't really lose any weapons that would inflate immediately. Maybe UBoGJ? (darn KBTs)

U-Bend instantly shot up to 30-40m the day it retired. It will probably settle near the same level as the retired fire reflector or a bit lower. 15-20m

Considering everyone that is sporting Faerie Tabards it isn't a huge loss. Personally I prefer full blockers over reflectors.

I think reflectors add a great dynamic to 2p battling. Ftabs are so lame.

It trades effectiveness for dynamics, I understand and utilize them when appropriate but I'd sooner flat out block the icons and know that none are going to slip through the reflector. If they release a 100% reflector that of course would be the better choice but as it stands 80-100% effectiveness could be the difference between winning and losing, especially in league matches.

That is very true. Not to mention the 80-100% chance should be 100% if you're going to pay 150-200m just to reflect fire.

Exactly. I mean obviously you are dealing damage back using reflection but it doesn't really even out in the long run. Faerie Tabard blocks all water plus a slew of other icons (including those pesky physical icons), thus making it superior in terms of defense which to me makes it more worth getting and using than reflection.

Looking at the big picture, lets say:

80% constant reflect is happening.
Opponent attacks using weapon that deals 10 water icons.
I reflect 8 back and take a hit of 2.
I attack with the very same thing and they use a Faerie Tabard to block.
I land 0 icons.
I am still +8 but they still hit me for +10, meaning overall I am 2 shy of where I would have been had I also blocked. Giving them a 2 icon advantage. It may not seem like much but again... that slight difference can be detrimental to winning or losing in 2P.

The +8 you just reflected back at them if you used the U-bend can also mean the difference between winning or losing

While though that is true I'd still say that flat out blocking them is going to do more good than reflecting them. In my experiences in the Battledome I've noticed that the players that exhibit full blockers normally triumph over reflector users.

EDIT: Really, if it blocked what it reflected it would make reflection the better of the two but since it doesn't I'm gonna stick with my 100% blockers.

Wasn't the Enchanted Kiko Squeeze Toy the cheapest full water blocker? Dang it.
