That suits me just fine :)
How about you keep your distance and I'll spare you the occasional drag through the grinder, deal?

Ok. ^.^ Have a good night. It's about bedtime for me. 5am comes early. ):

Wow, I found the board he made, and the insanely nasty comments people are making on it.

http://www.neopets.c...51456448&next=1

Too bad they can't all drop down dead. They've obviously never heard of being compassionate. I am just so disgusted. The human race is doomed if this is acceptable behaviour these days.

This. The rudeness of people on the neoboards appalls me sometimes. Not to mention the ignorance.

That sucks. I've only ever lent avatar pets that I didn't really care about. Lost everyone of them so I now I just pound them.

I thought we were still allowed to make scammer boards? Doesn't the AC do that when they notice an abnormal highscore on avatar games?

People still make scammer threads on the PC. I don't think they usually get deleted.
Though on the AC board, someone tried to make threads about "Team Codex," and TNT deleted them and froze the user.
Different situations, yes, but it's kind of the same concept of "protecting" cheaters/scammers/etc.

I was loling the other day at a screenshot of someone who neomailed a link of a trade to someone, it had an old rotten left boot on it. The guy said 500k. The person replied like "Whaat???" then he said "there's 500 NC inside the boot. 500k" I still wonder if it was a troll or someone who believed they'd scam someone with that.

It's really sad that people want to scam other people of neopets stuff... Not to mention, something like a scammed MSPP will be frozen quickly anyway, so he or she is just ruining fun for everyone.

>_____> I'm not an avatar collector, so I can't relate to that aspect, but I was a part of a forum where I used to sell art commissions and getting scammed for something that you worked hard on is not fun, and really jades you from trusting people ever again in these instances.

Not nice... :angry

All Neopets has to do is add a "Lending" feature and prevent scams. They won't though.

That would make BGC/SuAP/MSPP worthless.

I suggested this once on the NeoBoards, and the AC suckups pounced on this and said TNT doesn't support lending and if anyone gets scammed, well boo-hoo. I honestly don't care if the big 3 items get devalued. I don't understand why any item that doesn't get consumed should ever be worth that much.

Way too much demand, not enough supply.

And because of that people realized that, if they were careful, they could lend the things and make more money over time than just selling them.

If they're unlucky and have it stolen, on the other hand...

Does TNT freeze people who steal avatar items from others? Like, say someone pays someone else to borrow the SuAP, but then just keeps it. If the deal was made in writing, would TNT honor the deal? Or would they just say that the lender should've been more careful?

I know of one case where an MSPP lender got people to submit applications, and then mailed a select few who he deemed worthy to tell them they were chosen to be lent. Of course he got scammed, and TNT refused to give it back. He'd sent in a ticket, and they told him he wasn't getting it back.

Even if they do freeze the person who stole it, that would just make that item worth more because there would then be one less of that item in circulation.

I think I'd liken it more to white collar crimes instead of stuff like breaking and entering. I think we're all rooted in reality enough to realize that stealing in a game and stealing in real-life isn't equivalent no matter how deep into metaphors we get.

But it's fun to think about.

Actually, it's more like white collar crime under the condition that your employer/the IRS/basically everyone with authority doesn't give a shit even though documentation of your actions is readily available.

In other words, it's easy to rationalize ("It's just a game"), it's easy to set up, and it's easy to get away with. There really isn't much keeping anyone from scamming the crap out of everyone who offers this type of service aside from the goodness of their hearts.

Well, goodness of their hearts, or fear of retribution if they care about their account(s).

Judging from the stories in this thread and how easy it typically is to make dummy accounts, it doesn't seem like punishments really factor into it all that much.

This is the exact reason I started cheating in the first place. I was a legit player a few years ago with more than some of the "rich" now a days but I was stupid and trusted a "friend" with two of my items that I lent for free and they self froze and stole my items worth 500+ mil. at the time. Since then I've been cheating all the way.
