I find animated sigs to be unfair vs. non animated sigs.

Also 6 blows 7 away by far.

While I would generally agree, I really like how most of 7 is drawn and not some stock photo...

They catch the eye more than a still image. It's like NES vs SNES.

Also you should maybe look at most of the past winners with animated sigs entered.


ALTHOUGH, I do think that since it was brushed it is pretty nice, just generally unfair in a signature contest.

Signatures do have the tendency to include animation so I don't see it as unfair in a signature contest.

It may catch the eye but I don't think that means it'll get the vote.

There have been a lot of animated signatures that didn't win because they just weren't very high quality.

The thing with animated signatures is that it takes a fair bit of effort to create something like that. Not to mention the fact that the person who created it has obviously gone to a lot of trouble drawing each frame by hand. That in itself deserves praise, if not for anything else.

Yes, maybe animated signatures CAN seem unfair to others who lack the skill/ways of making their own, however, this should then entice those people to give one a go themselves at some point. That's the whole point of this competition, to constantly improve and broaden your skills

Well said. Not to mention most of us use Photoshop and that's a package that supports animation.
