So does anyone use auction sniping as a main source of income? It seems the majority of items with snipe-worthy prices are HTS, such as morphing potions - does this deter any of you? Feel free to post your best/worst buys and misses as well. :p

I love the auction house. I'm not on the sniper end, rather I'm on the item selling end. It's a nice way to get some extra NP for clothes/stamps/MP/general r99 I'd rather sell for 99K.

My best sniper: Lu codestone for 2000 NP. I never really tried going seriously for auction sniping.

I see many people snipe krawk mp when they were expensive for like 700k. I don't know how they do it.

I've seen many expensive items go by at like 1/3-1/4 of their price. very sad when it's not me that gets them. xD

I usually don't have enough patient to wait for a good item to snipe. :T

I've had a few good hits, but I remember one night I was up late and missed a 750K item due to a neopets server error. It ended up going for 25K too. The guy made a huge profit.

How often does this occur? I'm just curious whether or not if this would be better than auto buying.

I don't think that it would be more profitable than abing unless you successfully sniped every item you came across. Aside from that it's usually a bigger investment than abing and more hts. One example off the top of my head, I saw Beautiful Glowing Wings (~2m item) go for around 600k. Obviously there was like 10 people bidding on the item at once.

I agree. I have made like 100k auction sniping and like 5 mil Ab'ing. Someone sniped an item like for 9 mil and sold for 20 something mil then it would be very profitable.

I agree. I got to sit there waiting for the auction to end plus having a bunch of people bidding and I need to go back and forth and try to win.

Lolz, auction sniping. I think like 95% of the people that "auction snipe" use a program anyways :p

Neocodex should have an auction sniper.

I vaguely remember us having one or someone working on one in the past... I don't know how it ended up.

I used to snipe way back in the day when it actually told you how much tim was left, rather than an approximation. I hate that it tells you "<2 hours"... well is it one hour, or 2? Cause I'm going to bed/playing fallout new vegas/want to ab; so I don't stick around for it

I hate it. I usually miss auctions because of this.

Is this possible?

Yes. GM script or even a program.

Sniping's not too hard. Selling HTS is harder.

Used to snipe alot, but found ABing to be more consistent in profits.
