hey, i just got abrosia and i followed the beginners guide and i think i did everything according to what i was supposed to do. how do i know that it's started working? it says "status: visiting shop id 15 bakery" but i put manually what shops i wanted it to check and the bakery wasnt one of them. also all is says in the white main box is "2012-08-18 17:44:46 - Abrosia MSAB Started." so i'm not sure if its actually doing anything. thanks :)

Alright, for your first question I'll just make sure you did everything correct. You went into "settings" hit "main shop settings" then hit "visit specific shop ID's" and then hit the question mark next to it (so it comes up with a complete list of all the shops in neopia). Then you selected the shops you want to visit, and then hit "ok" at the bottom. If you did all that, it should be working just fine.

For the second, you'll know if it's doing something where at the bottom it'll say "Waiting X number of seconds" (which means it's waiting to refresh the shop) or it can say "visiting shop ID X..", both of those mean it's working. The only time you'll see something come up in the main box is when it says:
Abrosia MSAB started
Abrosia MSAB stopped
Bought XXXX in XXXXms (est. profit XXXX)
Missed XXXX Sold Out/Haggle Rejected/Unknown Error (est. profit XXXX)

Yep, it'll usually say "visiting shop ID X" when you first start it and it selects what shop to go to It can also come after "waiting X seconds" (you'll usually see "Waiting X seconds" then "Visiting shop ID X"). The shops it first choses, like the bakery, were selected because those shops (bakery, toy shop, music shop) are considered to be (I believe this was the reason) a low risk shop that can get nice profits.
As for the reason about why it's not going to the shops you select if you've done everything right, I have no answer for that (though I suspect post count, but that may not be it). (I forgot this in my first post, be sure you're also hitting the "ok" that's at the bottom of the regular settings in abroisa as well, since you need to hit the "ok" after the shops list comes up, and the second "ok" to confirm all the changes. If you're hitting the red X to close the settings window instead of hitting the "ok" button, it won't save the changes so it won't recognize that you told it to vist specific shop ID's)

If it's saying "waiting X seconds" or "visiting shop ID X" its working, even though nothing comes up in the main box (if you've been running it for a while and it hasn't bought anything, I'd suggest lowering your profit margin.)

I don't think so, I'm on a mac as well. (I use google chrome though, not safari. I've also used firefox and they all work). The FAQ states that all the programs (except for the shape shifter auto-player) work on a mac, so I wouldn't really think there'd be an incompatibility with someone who uses safari as their browser. (the only thing abrosia won't work with is trying to select "browser sync" as that isn't available for mac yet)

Yep, if the sound is enabled it'll make a beep kind of noise when it buys something. As for how long it takes, it depends on some things namely:

Profit margin (even if a shop restocks if nothing meets your profit margin it won't buy anything)

Shop you're in (some have slower restocks than others. this guide details that with a graph)

Time of Day you're running it (6pm NST has more people on, but durring that time it's best to not run Abrosia, as TNT is "on the lookout" for ABers then). If you notice you're not buying much durring a certain time of day, switch to another time to see if anything changes.

#of people also restocking in that shop. If there are lots of people in one shop it can cause Abrosia to miss an item, though it won't alert you to when it does miss (it'll just show up in red in the main box). (The thing in Abrosia that's supposed to show you how many people are ABing in each shop when you go to select the shops you want it to run in, is broken, so we don't have a way of knowing how many people are in one shop at a time).

Quick question, can you browse the site on a different account to the one you're abing on?

No you cant. It has something to do with the cookie set in abrosia that will cause it to log the session on the browser out. Best to pm Shadowlink64 about it if you have any more questions as he can explain it better than what i can.

Hmmm, really? I'm pretty sure you can if it's a different account on a different browser, since I have my main on Opera, then side accounts logged in on Firefox/Chrome/Maxthon and none of them get logged out and never get logged out unless i do it manually :o Even when on both accounts at the same time!

Abrosia uses Firefox as it's user agent by default, right? So I'm sure using a browser which isn't that won't make things explode and log out all over the place ^^
