I finally decided to get a smart phone... and now I'm not sure what to do with it. I got the HTC Vivid.

I have the basic facebook/gmail/twitter stuff, plus dropbox, kindle, skymap, etc.

What apps do you use for your smart phones?
What's the best note keeping/list making app? (preferably free.)

I use a free app called notepad for all my notes. My phone also came with a task manager app. Other apps I have is a Neopets dailies app, words with friends, songpop, wells fargo, draw something, and the tinychat app (that sucks really bad)

Yeah, mine is linked up to my google calendar as a built in task manager, but I don't like it at all. What's your Neopets dailies app?

Since you said you use dropbox did you see if you could get an extra 25 gigs worth of space?

I don't have a smartphone but if I did I'd probably use an app like My Backup Pro for the off chance that if I lose my phone at least I won't lose all the contacts, messages, etc.

I don't watch TV/movies, usually. I like watching TED TV online when I'm doing laundry. There's an app for that.

I just got done doing that before I posted all this!

Good idea.

It just occurred to me that I could really use an app that you could enter in all your food and then cross it off as you use it? And be searchable? Does anyone use anything like that? (I'm one of those weird hoarders. I could use a separate app like that for office supplies, actually.)

Root your phone, never pay for apps ever again.

Soundhound for identifying music
GameCIH for cheating with games
MX player for videos
Root explorer for installing/editing apks, move files around
Strikefleet Omega - best game ever

Evernote is what I use; and it goes across your PC and droid :D You can record almost anything with it; pictures, notes, voice...
doubleTwist; lets you sync your itunes with android REALLY easily

Some personalisation apps I use
smart keyboard; lets you customise the keyboard, change skins, size of keys
beautiful widgets; lets you personalise widgets on home screen
APW; more widgets
ADW.Launcher; Enables you to customise your home screen with different screen options, change the toolbar at the bottom of your screen, heaps of stuff.
