That, Hydro, was a terrible, terrible idea.

I think most people would see adlinks in posts, and leave.

It was just a test... I test all sorts of things on codex ... some work and some don't. Some of them you guys see :p.

Tiny font. :p

Is it possible to limit its use to normal Members and Guests?

Fixed :p. So much for copy/paste eh :p? I'm sure we can limit it to members and guests if we want to. I didn't actually realize it was going on for other people than members and guests -- my mistake :p.

It's not that it was necessarily too intrusive, you activate the test without telling anyone what was going on. It's easy enough to assume that you did it, but it was troubling that you did not inform the community about it.

Regarding the system itself, the system is more of an inconvenience than anything.

Er... I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here... I make updates to the board all the time -- almost daily I change something here or there to test it. A few days ago, I upgraded our entire store software, installed some new software that I haven't told the community about yet (which I think everyone will really like, but again, it will be a test). Would you like to be notified of everything like that too? I mean, I can, but I wasn't aware that you would be that interested in all the things that I do :p.

For a programmer, you sure do a lot of administrative duties... *cough*

:p
And yes, people do like to be updated, Faraaz. You know that! Beforehand, if the test will be visible to users, and after the fact if not (and successful).

While I spent considerable time working under the preconceived notion that I had picked up a nasty redirect, I suppose it did indicate that I needed to update my own security. I would suppose trip I made down to the coffee shop to get a fast connection to download additional spyware systems, and installing and uninstalling was well worth my time.
