Sort of proxy/IP question

Just putting it out there that I know nothing about proxies or how IPs work.

 

With an IP address, you can also see basic hardware information about the computer being used, right? Like the browser and the operating system. Can you see more than that? Does a proxy obscure this information? Does it matter if it does or not, considering that the most common operating system is some variation of Windows? I'm assuming that, since members here don't complain of a hardware ban from Neopets, it's not something they look into.

The IP address has nothing to do with your user agent that is sent by your browser (which has information about your browser and OS).

You can see your user agent here: http://www.useragentstring.com/

 

As far as I know, the user agent can be pretty individual but I'd also assume that Neopets doesn't look into that. I'd also assume that there are tools to fake your user agent :p
