Yea well I was expecting people to be hating on garbador

glad that no one disliking the little cutie

^ voltorb's evolution is essentially a flip-over, so sophiscated!!!1

there's always pokemon that everyone dislikes each gen, so don't get so hung up about how the 'great' pokemon series has fallen

Yesterday I watched an episode of the latest Pokemon anime. Did Ash get younger?

526937_531115593593943_1895309389_n.jpg

Grimer and Muk, for example, show how Gen I is clearly superior regarding pokemon design.

Ditto follows suit with this simple design. Globs of Flubber slime.

You forgot to mention jynx.
I'm not saying that all the pokemon from previous generations are perfect and flawless, I mean the old ones just have a sort of depth and character despite the fact that muk is just a pile of slime and voltorb is just a pokeball, that the new generations lack. The designs for most of the new pokemons looks more like a doodle that is not lacking in complexity in most cases but rather, sophistication

Well one could arguably say that it's harder to get simple designs now since Gen I used them all but... it's Pokemon. You can design anything you want, I mean hell... we have trash.

Pokemon has had natural change, you don't see everyone whining about Yu-Gi-Oh adding more cards to the game, or Magic adding a whole new set.

i think the only reason people are so "omg, the new designs are SO terrible" is because they've grown up with the old designs tbh. :/ i never understood why a trash pokemon was such a big deal lmao.

This^^ I've tried to watch new episodes of pokemon and I've seen the new cards. I'm not impressed to be honest, the first 150 were the best and whatever they added in the gold/silver/emerald edition.

I'm guessing you don't quite understand what sophistication is, voltorb doesn't need to evolve into a optimis prime for it to be regarded as sophisticated

You are on the internet and didn't even make sure you listed the correct games.

So much negativity.  :S

It was fine a bit ago....

And I think you've summed up my opinion PERFECTLY.

If you feel like dismissing an entire generation of pokemon simply because the design of 10 random pokemon bothers you, you weren't a real pokemon fan to begin with.

I said the exact thing on the previous page and got completely ignored.

People really think an Ice Cream pokemon doesn't warrant a game purchase.

+Rep'd ya.

That's what bothers me. It's not like Silver/Gold was perfect either.

SHUCKLE quietly hides itself under rocks, keeping its body concealed inside its hard shell while eating berries it has stored away. The berries mix with its body fluids to become a juice.

Eww... xD

It is harder to get attached to the newer pokemon in the new additions. The older ones were probably seen as better due to the nostalgia and the fact they were brand new. Some people will always prefer older pokemon designs in the same way people prefer older generation cars.

I tried playing Black for a bit but it was really hard to get involved with the storyline and get attached to the characters. The graphics were a huge upgrade though.

I couldn't. I really dislike the poke-spinoffs. I tried to play them buut...I don't like the dungeon mechanics. :/
Sunflora will forever be the derp flower for me. :p

Have you tried playing the R/B/G and G/S/C remakes?

huh, so they really are pokemon after all

No I haven't. I was going to use bacon, penis beaver and snake from a neopet ripoff site as excuses, but come on, you can't honestly have convinced yourself that the pokemon from that generation are well designed

Spoiler

I agree only to some extent but honestly its all perspective..

Both SS and HG were awesome.

I just wish they would come out with something with more then 2 regions already.

Er...GBCs can't go for more then 25 bucks?

The rarer color (in good condition) go for maybe 50?
I have no idea as far as the games though. They drop to pocket change if the battery dies. Most people don't want an opened game now :/
