You have to remember, Neopets is old by internet standards. We all have to grow up eventually. 18 here. I was first introduced when i like, seven.

im not too hardcore a player though? im on and off. when i get on im heavy into it for like 2 weeks then i just lose interest for a month heh

I joined when I was 9 (1999).  I got REALLY into it, then after being scammed, went the scammer/hacker route.  I remember hacking into an account with a 10mil bank balance.  Best day of my Neopian life lol.  (but now that I'm a mature, conscientious adult - ha - I don't do that stuff anymore)  

 

I usually get really into it for awhile, get frozen or bored with it, then take a year or so off.  It always lures me back in, though....usually when I just have a lot of free time on my hands.

I think I was around 8 when I joined very early on - anyone remember the 'Light Faerie Tower' or whatever it was in the main shopping area? I can't remember what it was for, though. I also remember the fairies having no faces and failing repeatedly at the Scorchio quest. I'm 21 now.

25 years old now, been playing a little over half my life, on and off. I'll play for a few months and get bored.. just made me realize I'm coming up on a decade of membership here at codex, lol.

I've been playing Neo for more than a decade; I started when I was 14. I'm ashamed to let any of my friends know that I still play Neopets, since NO ONE I know even plays it anymore. I guess I'm just addicted to buying and selling fake stuff and making fake money xD

I think most of us play neopets because it reminds us of the time we used to play in our youth. I don't know of any new players starting out because they thought the site was fun, not saying there aren't. I played in middle school, stopped in high school, and am currently starting up again in college. It's kind of like pokemon in a way, gotta catch em all!

I'm a teen and through the years I have been on and off neopets. I end up getting bored of the game but somehow I go back to it

I wouldn't dare call my self a hardcore Neopian haha.

I've been "on hiatus" for more time than I've actually played the game, but I always seem to come back for a little bit when I have too much free time on my hands and start feeling antisocial lol

there's a lot of young people on neo, i mean even a 14 year old would be considered 'old' if you lump in all the primary school kids and stuff

i guess this community's just a bit older since it deals with more *cough* illegit things

Out of interest, what is the average users online count during peak times, does anyone have a record? Whenever I'm on (morning & afternoon GMT), it's always only ~10k. I suppose during peak hours for the US, I'm either away from my laptop or sleeping.

I'm 26, played Neo for years - on and off, but brand new here on Neocodex though.
