Fuck me this show is awesome. It's beautifully shot, the characters are so interesting, the acting is class and I really like what they've done with the books.

 

If you haven't seen it already here are some reasons you should

• If you like gore, wow you're in for a treat
• If you love cannibal puns then wow you're also in for a treat
• Genderbent! Freddy Lounds and Dr. Alana Bloom are awesome 
• Eddie Izzard is in it
• Mads
• fucking
• Mikkelsen
• Seriously he is a captivating Hannibal. Good at showing that he's human AND evil
• If you are a suit connoisseur and a fan of finely dressed men you're going to enjoy yourself
• Hugh Dancy as the adorably unstable Will Graham

I walked into this thread expecting discussion of the glorious Hannibal Barca and the great nation of Carthage. I was dissapointed

I watched the first episode, and found it hard to believe there were 2 active cannibals and a future cannibal in a tiny Minnesota town. Is the rest of the season Hannibal and the psychologist guy tracking down various other cannibals throughout Minnesota? It all seemed pretty over-the-top and silly...I know you're supposed to suspend disbelief, but at a certain point it's just ridiculous. It was well-shot and well-acted, I just couldn't take it seriously.

Hmm I never really thought about it like that. Also the Minnesota Shrike is from, you guessed it, Minnesota. But Hannibal lives in Maryland which is way away isn't it?   My geography is terrible. And no no there are less cannibals after the pilot and more other fucked up killers. 
I do get your point though it's kind of crazy. I guess watching shows like this have made me accept that anything goes.

Last episode was pretty cool. Also scully is doing an awesome job as hannibal's therapist.

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Have watched three episodes so far, I'm leaning towards the like but I think I need more, just can't put my finger on what exactly is stopping me from getting into it.

 

Loved the books, loved the first movie.

It is, isn't it? Gory-est...(goriest?) show I've seen for a long time.

 

Especially the 'angels' in Coquilles and the human cello in Fromage.
