I like Alakazam and Kangaskhan a lot. A lot of them could have just been gen 4-style evolutions...

I actually like most Mega evolutions. The only one I really REALLY hate is Mega Gyarados. His head becomes disproportionate compared to the rest of his body. It's like taking a regular gyarados , cut out the middle section, glue the tail and the head, then finally add sparkles and dragon typing.

What do you guys think about the small number of new pokemon? I think it was the only way to make the series sustainable, and was a wise decision. 150 new mons each gen would take away energy from the actual game (and balance).

 

I like it. When there are too many new pokemon, you easily get new-pokemon fatigue. But with a smaller number, I still get excited each time I encounter a new pokemon in the wild. It is also easier to become familiar with each of them (their types, favoured attack stats, etc).

They should have catered to pokemon that actually need a mega evolution

They did it with a couple like Mawile and Manectric, though I totally agree that more weak pokemon should have been given mega evolutions. Did we really need more powerful versions of Mewtwo or Garchomp? If they wanted to go with popular, crowd-pleasing pokemon, they could have chosen Raichu.

Fennekin. I think it is the best starter in terms of stats and movepool. I also love its design - when you use certain psychic or fire attacks, Braixen will actually pluck out the tree branch stuck in its ass and use it as a magic wand or flaming stick as the case may be.

 

I'm a bit regretting my decision though, since the free Torchic is so kick-ass that I can't bear to box it, but I don't have space for two fire pokemon on my team.

I mostly just wanted to use gen 6 Pokemon and give them a go rather than the things I'm already familiar with I've used the Bulba line plenty of times already in other games hahaha

 

And mmnn, try telling that to my Flinchkiss (or Avalugg when I get one fuck you breeding)~
