Yea it's up and running, lol. I needed to add new rules to allow connection to it.
Oh, so it's working now?

Yup, I edited my post before I refreshed and saw your reply. Thanks for helping.
Do you still need proxies to run multiple program managers in ec2?

What do you mean multiple programs? Like do you want 2 different neo accounts on a different IP? If so, yes. You can have 1 account just on the VPN ip, then open more program managers and use Proxies on those.
Yes, that, thank you.

Yes, that, thank you.
Using proxies on EC2 defeats the purpose of running EC2, as you'd be restricted by the proxy's connection and ping. Unless your main internet is so horrible that it's better to connect to the proxy through EC2 than your main internet, you might as well run the proxies from your home IP, as it would be easier to control than from the remote desktop.

I am having trouble connecting and I have a suspicion it has to do with the security setting part that isn't really elaborated on because I've followed everything else exactly and it just won't connect. What should my security settings be if not the default?
EDIT: nevermind, made up some random security setting and now it's working...woo!

Would you mind sharing what you used, I'm sure others may run into this issue.
I am more than willing to bet he was talking about the security group settings. If you're having trouble connecting to your RDP shortcut, (like an error message pops up saying that it can't connect, that the computer may be off, etc.), then it probably has to do with the AWS's security group settings.
First off, you got to figure out which security group you're using
Keep in mind the name of the security group. Then follow these steps.
Click on the security group whose name column corresponds with the one you're using in your instance. In the port range box, type in 3389. In the Source box type in your ip address followed by /32 (for most IP addresses). It should look like this xxx.xx.xx.xxx/32. Click on the ADD RULE button.
You should now be able to connect to your instance using the IP specified above in the source box. Remember, if you use a VPN or hotspotshield, you will not be able to access your instance unless your VPN's IP address corresponds with the IP you placed in the source field above.

This is exactly what I did when creating a security group since the default wouldn't let me connect. If you wanted the layman's/idiot's version xD. To elaborate, I picked "All ICPM", "All TCP", and "All UDP" and then pressed add rule for each.
201211's post may be more helpful/the right thing to do but if you're still having issues, try this I suppose

So EC2 is forcing me to use the Oregon servers for some reason, how do I switch to the East coast? Its kinda weird since I live in Northern Virginia, you would think it would automatically hook me up with the one thats nearby.

You can change your desired server location in the EC2 management console.

You need to remote login... it doesn't matter what operating system.. just remotely connect to the EC2 and bam.

You'll just need something like this: http://www.microsoft...-desktop-client to RDP into the EC2 instances.

So I've connected to that virual computer. How do I proceed?
Do I use IE? Or do I download something else? Why do I have to download python? Do I download Ambrosia? Help!
Do the account have to be 3 years old...?

You can try downloading Ambrosia, but you won't find it.

Sorry, Abrosia. It's just that Ambrosia is a legitmate word.
I'm confused; are we suppose to use EC2 solely for Abandonned Attic?
Then isnt' there a limit to 5 items per day? If so, what should the minimum profit be set to?
That being said, I will also need a bunch of 3 year old accounts?

As is Abrosia.
EC2 can be used for any kind of autobuying/autoplaying. It's just a platform that lets you have a much faster connection to Neopets' servers.
Yes there's a limit, so be picky about what you get from the attic (I was using profit thresholds of over 5 million NP sometimes). Yes, you will need aged accounts to get the most valuable items.
