So if it freezes, you're pretty much out 300 dubloons then, and a loss of a rare item?(as I believe cove items only have 20 released).What a waste.

 

Or does it just disappear from the battle, but you still have it? (so like downsize, after you use it it disappears from the weapon selection but you still own it).

 

It still seems like a waste either way.

For rarity sake it could be worth investing in it, just so that you can get some profit off it
