Nope, I don't think that is a problem at all, being that it wasn't stipulated in the rules to begin with; if anyone else thinks it is problematic, it can be addressed in the rules of the next contest.

That said, what exactly are people voting for in this thread? I though having a photography contest might actually be interesting, before I came back and saw the votes.

I think as it's the first of its type of contest here, we just vote on whatever grounds necessary for whatever photo/image we like?

 

Maybe as a future recommendation, if it's going to be a regular photography contest, maybe set a theme (e.g Macro, Filtered, Animals, Grayscale, Manipulated and so on) to follow. That way we can have a precedent on what to look for in an image/photo and how to vote in regards to said theme(s).

i don't participate mainly because i don't own a camera but i'm glad to see so many entries. i voted for #4. i think it's a very sweet photo which encompasses the theme very well. i just wish the wife would pose differently because she looks a little weird there.

 

perhaps entrants can submit some caption along with their submission next time? i'm clueless with most of what these photos are... good luck!
