I was feeling a little scrooge this morning and wrote a simple user script (greasemonkey / tampermonkey) to turn off the snow in both the standard IPB and the BoHeGeHa skin.

I've uploaded this to userscripts so you can install with one click:

Thanks, Dan!

I like the snow too, but it makes me feel panicked for some reason.

A little off topic, but I left my computer on all day and when I got home it was pretty confuzzled/locked.  When I finally got to task manager, it said IE now was consuming  1,332,111 K or memory.    That seemed strange to me, as this was the only webpage I had opened.

That doesn't sound all too healthy. IE has a spotty history when it comes to memory leaks though...

You might want to try a different browser.

It crashers more than Google and Opera combined.  It actually crashes/reloads here several times a day.  You might ask why I don't used Google or Opera to chat here.  I have a reason which is a combination of lazy and stuff I don't know  how to do.   School only has IE.

P.S. Since Google joined ALEC I'm not allowed to use Gmail/Gbrowser.

Thank you so very much for this greasemonkey script!. Though I appreciated the gesture with the snowfall, and in spirit of the holiday, not only does it slow down my computer (Yes, I need a new one), I am also faced with the snowfall outside as well. Neocodex to me is a WARM & fuzzy place for me to visit :)

Perhaps we should have fire and brimstone falling from the sky to warm everybody up instead. :p

Let's go full-on rapture styley. :p Unfortunately, if the rapture were to arrive, I wouldn't be around to see all the fire and brimstone. :(
