I was thinking that a script that displays item rarity, or highlights rarity 80+ item's in shops would be pretty useful for those who don't use Abrosia (Or don't want to risk it while trying to get that elusive chocolate avatar), or even for those who just enjoy restocking, but hate buying the wrong items.

Is this a plausible idea at all?

Wouldn't using a script/program not made by neopets aiding restocking and such cheating anyway?

It is not available to everyone, giving those able to download an unfair advantage

not that I care

I don't think it would be very plausible, although I could be wrong.

It would require pulling information from either Neopets' search feature (which is horribly slow), JNs Item DB or NCs Item DB to obtain the rarity of items.

So it would need to gather the item names on the pages, then search for those items to gather the rarity then highlight them.

Seems like a lot of work but I don't know anything about script making so.....

You'd probably just need a text file of all known items and their rarities. Requesting the info from a database would not necessarily be too slow, but it would be more difficult to implement seamlessly/without latency.

Why not just use Adblock, then cut out/block all non profitable items?

I have a list of probably 10k+ blocked items myself from legit restocking.

Wow, I didn't know that was possible o.o.. that makes legit restocking so much easier! How can I add that list to Adblock?

I have my own dependent on how fast I am at restocking. Only high priced items tbh.

Start off by maybe referring to Pyro's post here.

I'm sure there's someone out there that has made one of their own that would make an image super sized so you could automatically see an image of a really good item.

Assuming all the shitty items are blocked, you can just increase the size zoom size of your web browser to make images bigger.

Usually holding ctrl + scrolling up on your mouse wheel does the trick.
