I'm trying to install a game (Red Alert 3 if it matters) but I don't have the serial key.

Is there any way I can extract the serial key from my game disk?

It's never been installed on any of the computers in the house before, so there's no existing registry files to get the key from.

Initial answer would be no - but I'm sure if you looked in the right places online you could probably find a way to play the game without a CD-key.

Yeah I'm happy to pirate pretty much everything, I bought every C&C game, so kind of figured I'd rather not just download it. Just wondered if there was any link between the game disk and CD key.

There exist product key finder programs, idk if they work. You can also search for a serial key online.

You might be able to get a replacement key from the company if you have proof of purchase

You can't do any of the RA3 installation without a CD key.

I'm aware I could just download it, crack it, keygen it, whatever.
I enjoy playing these games online on the official servers, so if there's anyway of finding my original CD key, that's what I'm after.

It was 6 years ago I bought it, I wanted to reinstall it.

Go sailing and you might find a certain bay.

No guilt if you bought the game before.

As I explained earlier, I don't really want to just download and crack it.
I wanted a way to get hold of my original serial key.

I'm going to see if I can get anywhere with license crawler and then just find a decent keygen.

That's almost the same thing except more difficult.

Your call.

Yeah I know.
Settled for keygen, found one that's generic for all EA games, worked first time.

Thanks for all the advice :)

Your cdkey shouldn't be on the disks data unfortunately...otherwise keygens wouldn't need to exist because youd just have to use a cracked version. You'll just have to keygen or crack it...if its 6 years old a pic of the disc alone may be enough to get you the cd key from support honestly. I know people who were doing it with comouter generated receipts or just playing with the right customer service rep to get what they wanted without ever having paid in the first place...csr's are only human after all.

Edit: wow typing on mobile is so horrible some days hahah
